“Damaging wind + flooding” to effect the East Coast this weekend (1 Viewer)

Eagles vs Niners game is going to be affected according to the forecast. They're calling for 44°, 1.5" of rain and gusts up to 23mph. Not sure when it will hit exactly though.

looks like the worst stuff will be sunday night.  pats and phili games are at noon.  i bet they are ok, but philly will get it before boston

Doesn’t seem like 23 mph winds and rain would impact a football game that much. Now if it were a tennis match that would be a different story.

Gotta be kidding me. So not only am I down 33 because my opponent had the Ravens DST going, but I got Alshon Jeffrey in a downpour, and Mel Gordon to have a chance of it with a bum foot. Man, can't bench Mel, but thoughts on sitting Alshon for Funchess or (ugh) Doctson?

If I truly needed a big time explosion from way back, I would play Doctson. (you know, say you had a 50 point deficit to try and make up for) But then I would be looking for some off-the-wall QB to stack too in the event of that scenario.

I'd need to see the lineups, and what you may or may not need, but you likely need to play Alshon.  He will get a blow up game soon, and I don't even care for him as a player.

Not nearly as bad as you might think, because Alshon has done very little this year. At this point he's getting inserted in lineups based on a past history of production, not this year's actual production. Either Funchess or Doctson is just as good a play, IMO. I'd go Funchess.

Rain might mean Gordon gets even more touches.  I wouldn't sweat the weather at all

The weather in DC doesn't look great either. I bet Cousins leans on the short pass game again and it's all C. Thompson/J. Reed.

ATL/NYJ looks like a mess as well.

Ratcheting down all passing/receiving/kicking in the Philly, ATL games.

TB looks a little iffy as well.

put Forte in, Falcons stink and they have a bad run defense...Powell worth a look.. Doug Martin, Chris Thompson.

a day for RBs..

Wouldn’t it be more of a Rob Kelley day if the weather is going to be bad? I would think a battering ram like Kelley would get more touches in heavy wind and rain conditions than a smaller guy like Thompson

I quit playing the weather in FF about 10 years ago unless it's a kicker decision which, heck, nobody can predict anyways.

Remember this.....as tough as it may be for a passing game or WR to break, it's just as tough for a DB. In fact, it can be argued that the offensive player is in a much better position since at least he knows which way he's going to go and can prepare his footing. Some of the biggest plays come in crap weather.

You are right, as am I.

He needs a bit of a dart throw, and if it was a "super deep" long shot, then there is the small chance that Cousins starts depending on Doctson. His choices were Funchess, Doctson or Alshon.  Its not like he is picking from a batch of WR luminaries there.   :)

Alshon is going to be on the field in the Philly game, and I don't exactly like depending on Cam and his "prolific passing" if you get my drift.

I wonder if Smallwood might be a decent FLEX play in the Phili weather? Shifty, catches some dump off passes, gets into space...

Can any philly and east Rutherford homers weigh in on the local weather?

It looks like the philly-49er and jets-falcons game are the only ones with weather concerns...

Would I be crazy to consider Dalton vs. IND over Wentz?
Depends on your match-up IMO. If you're looking like a comfy favorite, don't touch it, but if you need to swing for the fences, Dalton could easily outscore Wentz this week.

I just pulled Matt Ryan for Ty Taylor (not that big of a reach though... but weather was the deciding factor for me).

I am about 10 miles away from Met Life stadium and raining pretty steady right now.  Winds do not seem to be a factor...yet.  Although, conditions are expected to deteriorate as game time approaches.  On a side note, anyone know who lines up the majority of the time from the slot from the Falcons???

Sanu 62% of the time

In the windy games, I'm personally downgrading any pass catchers where going vertical is a large aspect of their game, i.e Cooks, DJax, Jeffery, Goodwin, Torrey Smith (not that anyone was playing him).

Agree.  That is why I just may roll with Sanu in a must win game for me.

Latest stuff from this link doesn't seem too concerned with any of the games
I think this guy is going to be doing another update soon. Interestingly enough, I found a similar post from him in 2014 where he forecasted up to 30mph gusts in a couple games. I went back and checked the game logs from those games and none of the QBs threw for over 300 yards but some receivers had success. Hilariously, Torrey Smith had success in one of the games that was supposed to see the most wind (3/81/1) so yeah.

Edit: If anyone is curious the games were BAL vs. ATL, CLE vs. JAC and TEN vs. WAS.

My other options are far less appealing so barring hurricane like conditions I'm throwing my guys out there

On Dallas/Skins game in DC, Washington is missing a couple of O lineman. Not good in perfect weather. Bad protection + any wind has to decrease the probability of deep strikes.

C. Thompson time.

I heard him on RotoGrinders show this morning on Sirius. The two games he pin-pointed as trouble spots were Washington and Philly, and Jets-Falcons.

I live 20 minutes west of met life stadium. Steady rain but driving ten minutes east toward the stadium it’s a real downpour. Rain is driving but the wind doesn’t seem bad, yet. Storm up coming south up the coast

Rain is bad enough in Ocean County, NJ to have ruined my satellite TV reception. May have to listen to the Jets game on the radio.

Outside of MetLife, absolutely pouring. Not much sway to the tree branches.   Sitting ryan for brissett based on his ineffectiveness and this mess

See, he's also their best pass protection back, so kind of worried there.
