Yep. Would be nice to do an 80s one after so many 70s. Plus, 1982 was when I got into music thanks to us getting cable and me getting immersed in MTV, so I have many nostalgic favorites from that year that even Tim can't possibly leave off a list.

The early 80s were a weird time, at least on the pop charts. A lot of '70s trends had died out (or went underground) and I think the cultural "1980s" didn't really kick in until the next year (similar to how "the '60s" started on Feb 9, 1964 in many minds.

Chuck Klosterman has the nineties beginning with "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and ending on Sept. 11, 2001. I'd say that's accurate.

Agreed. That's about as close as you can get to the calendar on any particular decade of music, IMO. The rest are hype and misunderstandings, including my own.
