16 team start up on MFL. Looking for 2 more owners
-IDP, Custom scoring
-Raid will take place every offseason. Basically you can protect 1 player at each position and 3 additional flex players. After that your remaining players are subjected to be raided by other teams. Teams can only raid/be raided 3 times (so the most players you can lose is 3). This promotes movement/trades and allows teams at the bottom to get better quicker than wait on rookie picks to pan out.
-Below is a copy of the bylaws (Short version)

D. League Standings

  1. Victory Points ("VP") will be used to determine League standings. A team can earn up to 4 VP each week based on whether they won, tied or lost and how many points they scored.
  • Win = 2 Points
  • Tie = 1 Point
  • Loss = 0 Points
  • Top 5 in total points for the week = 2 Points
  • Middle 6 in total points for the week = 1 Point
  • Bottom 5 in total points for the week = 0 Point

G. Inaugural Draft

  1. The inaugural draft will be serpentine style draft and will consist of 55 Rounds.
  2. Rookie picks (not players) will be available to be drafted.
  3. The draft order will be determined using names being pulled out of a hat. We will video the pulls and a 3rd party person will do the pulls.
  4. Each team will have 12 hours to make their selection. The clock will not be suspended overnight. The 12 hours are available as a courtesy in case of an emergency. You should not use up all 12 hours to make your selection unless it absolutely necessary. If the draft is moving along too slowly the commissioner has the right to decrease the time between picks.
  5. 2nd year players will NOT be eligible to be placed on the taxi squad during the inaugural. We will treat these players as vets due to the fact that we cannot determine a price to put on these players for poaching compensation. (eg: 2nd year player drafted in the 25th round of an inaugural would cost what for teams trying to poach costs?)
I. Rookie Draft

  1. The rookie draft will start on the Monday following the NFL Rookie Draft.
  2. The rookie draft will consist of 6 rounds.
  3. The rookie draft will NOT be serpentine style.
  4. Each team will have 12 hours to make their selection. The clock will not be suspended overnight. The 12 hours are available as a courtesy in case of an emergency. You should not use up all 12 hours to make your selection unless absolutely necessary. If the draft is moving along too slowly the commissioner has the right to decrease the time between picks.
J. Rookie Draft Order

  1. In an effort to combat tanking, all non-playoff teams will be ranked in reverse order of Potential Points (PP) at the conclusion of Week 13 of the regular season. PP can be found on the Power Rankings grid under (PP). PP is the total points that a team would have scored if a team set the optimal lineup each week. The lowest total Potential Points (PP), will be awarded the first draft position, and so on, while the team with the highest PP will receive the ninth draft position.
If 2 or more teams finished with equal potential points, league tie breaker rules for standings will be used to break ties. The team that “wins” the tiebreaker receives the later pick between the tied teams.
For teams that qualify for the playoffs, the draft order will be determined by the results of the playoffs:
  2. Week 14 losers will get the #12 & #11 & #10 draft picks; the team with the most points that week gets the #12 pick and the team with the least points that week gets the #10 pick
  3. Week 15 losers will get the #14 & #13 draft pick; the team with the most points that week gets the #14 pick
  4. Week 16 losers will get the #15 draft pick
  5. The Super Bowl winner and runner up will each receive the #16 draft pick
K. The Raid

  1. The Raid will take place on March 23rd of each league year.
  2. The Raid order will be determined in the inverse order in which they finished, i.e. Team 16 through Team 1. The order of the rookie draft and the Raid are determined in different ways (See Section J for rookie draft order).
  3. During the Raid each team will raid 3 players, one at a time. These players can come from any roster in the league. Teams cannot raid their own players.
  4. There will be 3 rounds and all teams must raid 3 players and all teams must have 3 players raided from their team. No team can raid or be raided more or less than 3 times.
  5. Prior to the Raid, teams will have the opportunity to protect 1 player at each position, plus 1 additional offensive player, 1 additional defensive player and 1 additional flex player (O or D). In other words, teams can protect 3 additional players but one must be an offensive player and one must be a defensive player, the third can be either.
  6. Players on Taxi Squads CANNOT be raided.
  7. Rookies & 2nd year players on the taxi squad are protected through the Raid following each year. They will be automatically promoted after the Raid of their second year in the league has concluded. (Meaning a player going in to year 3 will automatically be promoted to the active roster after the conclusion of the Raid)
  8. Each time you are raided you will be able to protect one additional player.
  9. Once all 3 rounds are over the Raid has ended.
  10. The Raid will be conducted using a google doc for which a link is provided on the league site. It is the responsibility of the raiding team to email the next team up after they have made their raid selection.

O. Taxi Squad and Poaching Taxi Squad Players

  1. Each team can have up to 10 players on their Taxi Squad.
  2. Only rookies (R) may be placed on the TS.
  3. Rookies are allowed to be on the TS for 2 years only. All TS players going into their 3rd year will be promoted after the raid which follows their rookie season.
  4. Teams will be allowed to promote and/or demote rookies to the Taxi Squad as much as they like up until the Thursday night game of Week 1.
  5. If a rookie is on the active roster at the start of Week 1, he may never be demoted again.
  6. Once a demoted player is activated after the start of Week 1 of his rookie year, he may never been demoted again.
  7. Taxi Squad Rookies can be called up to the active roster at any time.
  8. Taxi Squad Rookies can be traded, however, when they are traded they will automatically be placed on the active roster of the acquiring team. There will be a 48 hour grace period from the time stamp of the trade being processed where the acquiring team can demote the newly acquired player to their Taxi Squad unless the acquired player was in the starting lineup for that weeks games. If no demotion is made by the 48 deadline that player is permanently on the active roster of the new team, unless it's a rookie between the rookie draft and Week 1.
  9. Rookies acquired anytime via poaching must remain on the poaching team's active roster and can never be demoted again. If the poaching team trades said player, then team acquiring the rookie can demote the player to the taxi squad prior to the start of Week 1 but not after the season has started.
  10. At anytime below a team may attempt to activate a player from another team's Taxi Squad.
  • April 1 or the end of the Raid, whichever is later, through the start of the Rookie Draft.
  • August 16th through the end of week 17 which is defined as the start of the Week 17 Monday night game (8:15pm EST).
11. To activate a player off another team's Taxi Squad make a message board post entitled "Taxi Squad Activation for [Player's name] from [Team name currently possessing the player you are activating]." The message must state the compensation you are offering. It is vital that you have your notifications setup to allow you to be notified of new message board posts.

12. Compensation is required to activate a player from another team's Taxi Squad. The Compensation requirements are as follows:

  • Players drafted in Rounds 2-7: A draft pick at least one round higher than the player was drafted & a pick from the round in which that player was drafted. For example, to activate a rookie that was drafted in round 2 of the rookie draft compensation would be a 1st & 2nd round pick.
  • Players drafted in Round 1 are unable to be poached.
  • Undrafted rookies will be treated as though they were drafted in round 6 of the rookie draft.
  • Only draft picks in the upcoming rookie draft may be used as compensation. Draft picks not from the next rookie draft may not be used as compensation.
13. The team that possess the player when the activation is made has the option to either take the compensation or activate the player. Teams have 48 hours from the time stamp on the message board for which to activate their player. They do so by activating their player and posting that they've done so as a reply to the activation post. There is no penalty for activating the Taxi Squad player instead of taking the compensation offered.
