Aside from my 10 Team dynasty league with 2QBs.
I'm in a 12 Team Redraft league that is like the one you described where we start:
QB, WR, WR, WR, RB, RB TE superflex: QB/WR/RB/TE
I've been 3rd, 1st, 4th in three years. I focus on the high 2 QB draft method.
When I got 1st it was important that I snagged up the top FAs. BLOUNT/HILLIS and others.
When you do 2 QB category. Get some RB sleepers/next in line guys.
After season 1 people caught on to what I was doing and started copying making it harder to execute in draft.
I've drafted from some later spots. #10 etc.
Grabbing QBs like Rivers, Romo Roethlesberger, Brady (we was a little lower one year) depends on the year.
Draft strategy that I use
RD1. QB
RD2. QB
RD3. Top WR/RB which ever higher in top 12.
RD4. Top WR/RB/TE WR/RB Top 12 positionally or TE top 6.
It depends on how deep talent is at the position and when I pick.
I'm going Best Available Talent here on out and filling up my starting positions.
I will also look to get a 3rd QB in the later rounds. Like Big Ben in 2010 with his suspension.
but not usually until my starters are filled. It depends on best available talent.
Rd 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 , 10 etc
3rd QB does a few things for you.
It keeps the QB off another team.
It allows you to stick with 2QB strategy if a starter gets hurt or during bye week.
It could be used as Trade bait for a team that went with 1 QB but that player is hurt etc.
would you want to start Gabbert or Schaub? Matt Moore or Andy Dalton?
Utlimately, you want to grab the most Top 100 players as possible.
Then watch the waiver wires.
You end up with guys that you have to roll the dice on a bit.
Reggie Bush, Javid Best, Fred Jackson,
Demarco Murray paid off.
I lost my playoff game. I got 0 points from my QBs in the game.
Thye didn't play or something and or got hurt. It was horrible. My strategy totaly failed on a fluke so I got 4th.
Oh well. It put me in position to make a run. I'm in or near the top.
The better your QB1 QB2 doesn't have to be quite as good. QB3 a notch down but could be plugged in.
Research the talent create a list according to your scoring rules etc.
You'll be fine.
