>>> 2008 Shark Pool Suicide Contest - Week 11 (1 Viewer)

used Pittsburgh NY Giants San Diego Carolina Dallas Minnesota Houston NY Jets Chicago Arizona

Week 11 Indianapolis

Thanx again TC

Hi TC,

Ok, so I tied w/ the Eagles. Now what?
Interesting call but I would think Rule 2 would be applicable:2. Select a NFL winner each week without duplicating the selection for the 2008 season. The weekly deadline is the team's kickoff.

I'm sure that tie will have a lot of survivor pools up in arms.

Sorry, Charlie. A weekly winner is required to advance. PHI and CIN selections are NOT winners.

Basic survivor pool rules are pretty straight forward. Pick a winner each week and you can only use a team once. Shouldn't be any controversy.

That's cool. However, I think we should make a formal 1 sentence rule for next season regarding ties

Why?

Why? Ties is still a "gray" area. It might not be a winner pick but it's also not a loser? Maybe the rule should be that when ties occur : the person needs to pick another team for the remaining games of that week or it counts as a loss. My point is to just make up the tie rule (whatever it is) to avoid any confusion or gray areas. It's a rule that everyone should know up front.

2. Select a NFL winner each week without duplicating the selection for the 2008 season.
This seems perfectly clear. I don't see any grey there.

Seems like there already is a one sentence rulethat is as clear as can be:2. Select a NFL winner each week without duplicating the selection for the 2008 season. The weekly deadline is the team's kickoff.

i would hate to be in a money pool with some of you. "Select a NFL winner each week " may or may not address ties; it depends on who you talk with. for example, I asked 5 people in my fantasy league. 2 owners thought ties are a scratch (1 of those 2 are actually in a $10k pool where ties remain alive for that week if there's other teams to pick from), 1 was unsure and 2 thought ties loss. hence, it can be considered "open to interpretation" unless there's a rule that specifically address ties. additionally, it's not like i'm suggesting that i should remain alive.

all i'm suggesting is....

"Rules

The contest rules are very, very simple.

1. One entry per user name. To edit a selection, post a *correction*.

2. Select a NFL winner each week without duplicating the selection for the 2008 season. The weekly deadline is the team's kickoff.

3. Correct selections advance to the next week. Losing and tie selections are out. Missed entries are out.

4. Enjoy."

Bye, bye, jaisonline  .

"Select a NFL winner each week " may or may not address ties
It's impossible for that to be more clear. What's the point in adding more words to the rules when the handful of confused people can't comprehend what's already written anyway? Waste of time.

While I agree with you, the irony of you having to post this is not lost. :lmao:

May I lay out the tie-breaking procedures if more than one makes it through week 17? Last year there were multiple winners, I suggest only one winner this year by setting up tiebreaking procedures that will make it impossible (or nearly impossible) for more than one to survive all tiebreakers.

That's a fine idea. I prefer one winner, too. As we near week 16, more thought will be put into it. However, you can send suggestions to me at tc@YouthFantasyfootball. com at any time.

TC: Is that YouthFantasyfottball.com or YouthFantasyfootball.com ?I was eliminated in week 1 but I'll throw out a suggestion here so everybody who's still in it to ponder.

Weeks (14?), 15 and 16, have the survivors pick two teams.

Any teams left for Week 17 will pick 5 teams and rank them in order. Everybody who gets their #1 choice right advances. Then move to their second choice, and so on. Hopefully their will only be one team left when you get to the end. If the last two or more teams get eliminated at their third or fourth choice then use their next choice for the final tiebreaker.
