2008 Top 12 (1 Viewer)

Kind of lazy on my part, as I'm thinking only top 5 in my head, but I have 2 top 3 picks next year, so haven't thought ahead too much beyond those 3. If you had to rank the top 12 (1st round) for 2008 right now, who would you include?!?!

1. LT2

2. AD

3. SJax

4. Brady/Moss

5. Moss/Brady

6. Westy

7. Addai

8. Romo

9. TO

10. Portis

11. Gore (bounceback?)

12. M. Barber (how much higher if Jones goes?)

?!?!?!?!

Could there really be 2 QBs and 2 WRs in the first round? Where would you justify taking Peyton in the first round? Where do Reggie, FWP, MJD, Jacobs fit in?!?!

Did I miss anyone?

Uhh, this list would be very dependent upon your league rules.

In most leagues you would be hard pressed to take any QB in the first round, much less one at #4 and then another at #8.

Be careful not to draft next year based solely on this year's stats.

Thats all I got.

Redraft top 12 for my main home league will probably go something like this:

1. LT

2. ADP

3. Addai

4. Westbrook

5. SJAX

6. L. Johnson

7. Gore

8. Brady

9. Portis

10. Lynch

11. FWP (depending on injury status)

12. Moss

Two WRs in the first round isn't that far-fetched. It happened a lot back when Moss/Harrison/Owens was the big 3. Two QBs in the first round *IS* nuts. That didn't even happen after Manning and Culpepper finished 1-2 in total VBD with two ABSURD seasons after 2004. And Romo doesn't have the sort of track record to overcome the QB stigma and go in the first. I think Brady will go in the first, and Manning will still be the second QB taken, but won't go until the mid-to-late second.

Spoiler alert: Brady isn't going to throw for 50 TDs next year. Drafting him in the first is going to hurt the rest of your roster as I think a guy like Romo or Peyton may outperform him.

throw at wall see what sticks.......

In general , maybe brady and Manning will be first round 12 team picks. The inj bug hitting rb position this year might bring up :safe: plays.... i think maybe 8 startable rbs were FA or close .this year. that might be a high guess.( more than a 4 game starter, but less than a 10 game starter)

but i could be wrong. Most drafters are smarter than that...maybe,, joke

but who cares.... means that out of the first 24 picks some very good value will fall. I think the top3 qb will go top 24 in most drafts.

1. LT

2. Peterson

3. SJax

4. Westbrook

5. Addai

After the top 5, I see about 7 players I'd consider equal, but I wouldn't draft a QB in the 1st. Never have, never well unless maybe if I have the 1.12/2.01

Oddly, the safe late 1st round pick in 08 will be Portis.

A Two QB Perspective:

My off the top of my head list:

1. LT2

2. ADP

3. Westbrook

4. S Jax

5. J. Addai

6. Manning

7. Brady

8. Portis

9. Lynch

10. Gore

11. Moss

12th will likely be best QB on the board (Romo Brees?), or a RB that we are not talking about here - LJ if he is looking very healthy, McGahee depending on the coach and QB situation. Possibly Ryan Grant if he is the 100% guy in GB.

Second round will see some good value. QBs such as Brees, Romo and possibly Favre assuming he is back, RBs listed above along with Willie Parker, Denver RB, Marion Barber, A rookie in the right situation and maybe even Jamal Lewis. WRs to consider at the end of round 2 and the turn would be Owens, Andre Johnson and Edwards in my book, though Id probably wait until the third.

Braylon > Maroney by quite a bit IMO

Agreed. Also IMO, not having Andre Johnson as a top 8 WR is a big mistake.

I tend to agree with everything you posted here. I too would never draft a QB in round, or before round 5 for that matter. Look at the top 5 WBs from 2007, Manning had a subpar year by his standards, Brady far exceeded, Palmer, Brees and Bulger were busts. I'll take 2RBs, 2 WRs then see what QB looks like. The last 3 years I have landed my starter, who far exceeded expectation in round 9. Palmer in 05, Vick in 06, Hass in 07.But every league will have a Brady drafter, (and justifiably so by 2007 stats and 2008 expectations), and most leagues will have a guy after Brady is gone take Romo with the reasoning that "2007 was the tip of the iceberg".One thing I do contest is your political affiliation . . .
