2010 FPC & FFPC League Commissioner (1 Viewer)

Alex - FFPC

Footballguy
As many of you know, the FFPC (Fantasy Football Players Championship) had been using MyFantasyLeague.com as it's league commissioner product for the 2008 & 2009 season. My business partner Dave Gerczak and I want to express our gratitude to Mike Hall and MFL for providing the commissioner product for the FFPC. As a start up HSFF event, we were looking for a flexible, reliable and most importantly – a cost-effective product and MFL provided those needs. Thanks Mike for helping the FFPC get off the ground and to grow.

As you can tell, MFL will not be powering the FFPC or the Footballguys Players Championship in 2010. There are various reasons that led us to this decision and I’m sure we will have a chance to answer your questions on this topic another time.

Now, we want to talk about the future and we are very excited to present the league commissioner product which will be powering the FFPC and FPC going forward. It took some time to finalize this partnership as Dave and I, as well as David & Joe, wanted to make sure our events were in the right hands and most importantly, to be sure our players were happy with the decision. And I think you will be.

The new league commissioner product for the FFPC and FPC is: RealTime Fantasy Sports.

RTSports is heading into its 16th year of providing top notch commissioner services. The have a record of proven reliability, as many of us are familiar with their software.

When we first contacted the guys at RTSports, we immediately voiced the concerns that HSFF players have had with the specific area of their product in the past: the blind bidding interface. We expressed that the FFPC/FPC players must have the flexibility of a blind bidding system which allows them to implement various bidding strategies which are so important in HSFF team management. Tim and Mark from RTSports understood this clearly and have committed to build a brand new blind bidding interface for the FFPC/FPC which will allow for multiple bidding groups. This new interface will also allow FFPC/FPC owners to prioritize bids by order and not by bid amount. In addition, as the FFPC has done in 2008 & 2009, all bids will be made public after the conclusion of the weekly blind bidding run, which allows for maximum transparency.

Here is the direct clause from the contract regarding this issue:

"RTFS shall provide “Blind Bidding Groups” in the 2010 version of its “Full Season Commissioner” product for the FFPC. Blind Bidding Groups shall allow participants to group their bids for free agents. Bids shall be evaluated in the priority order established by each participant. All submitted bids shall be visible to all participants following the award of free agents."

Our other major area of concern was online live drafting software. This is an area that RTSports excels in as their draft room is easy to use and dependable. RTSports also provides live-commissioned drafts as an option, which was another important point for us.

Overall, with RTSports, FFPC and FPC will have the ability to continue offering the entire line of our leagues and contests in the same format that we have offered them in the past. RTSports are committed to helping us make a seamless transition to their commissioner product and we are committed making sure FFPC & FPC players are completely satisfied with this new platform.

A couple of personal opinions here:

RTS is the same host site used by WCOFF

The fact that RTS has been chosen as the provider now by FFPC as well speaks volumes about their committment to providing high quality product for FF

It also says quite a bit about Dave and Alex to choose the best host site they could even if that was the site for a competing provider of high stakes FF contests. They obviously put a lot of time and effort into finding what they thought would be the best site for their customers.

Thanks Captain. You hit the nail on the head. There was an incredible amount of thought that went into this process and we are very pleased the way things have worked out.
