2011 AL / NL Manager of the Year (1 Viewer)

Gibson? I know they had unexpected success - but TLR just pulled off one his biggest Houdini tricks ever in winning that WS. Lost Wainwright, juggled a bullpen, written off in September - beat the Phils, beat the Brewers, beat the Rangers - all improbable.

Post season balloting occurs after the regular season.

To get to the post season was a trick in itself....but I understand the post season stuff is discounted.

Cards were expected to compete all year. AZ was supposed to mop up the NLW cellar. Gibby is a great choice with what he did for that team.

And was it TLR and Stl getting in to the postseason or ATL giving it away?

Just like Philly, Milwaukee and Texas "gave it away"? Heaven forbid any credit be given to a team that had a rotation of Carpenter - Garcia - Flyball Jackson - Lohse - Westbrook. Throw in a Pujols injury and a Freese injury and a revolving middle infield. Voila! Don't know what I was thinking. EVERYONE expected the Cards to win it all this year.

You should familiarize yourself with the DBacks injuries as well as their starting rotation.

I understand. I actually kind of like the Dbacks and I think they have some outstanding young pitching talent - just want one more parting gift for TLR before we begin the Matheny era.

TLR did an amazing job this year, probably one of his best of his career.
