2012 Job Stealers (1 Viewer)

I think there is a good chance Donald Brown is starting next year and putting up RB2 numbers. He ran very well this year, was able to stay healthy all season (injuries and blocking have held him back earlier), catches very well, and can block well now. He is a complete back. His career ypc is now 4.2 and this season was 4.8 on a meaningful number of carries. O yes, in three season and nearly 400 touches (runs and catches), he has only 1 fumble.

If the team will run a more traditional I type offense with a FB (which favors Brown's style), he could be very good.

It is very relevant. He doesn't have an NFL arm and went where he did because of it.
I was under the impression that arm strength wasn't as big a deal anymore. Brees, Brady, Rivers are all guys that didn't have fantastic arms. Nowadays I think teams look for leadership and intangibles over rocket arms.I have a feeling Flynn will be stealing someone's job in 2012.
Arm Strength is like junk. Most of the time a dude is better off with just enough and knowing what the heck to do with it than having a whole bunch w/o a clue.

Agree, touch and timing are more critical. Matt Barkley will be the #1 QB taken next year and doesn't exactly have a laser. Flynn has an NFL arm. A guy like Tyler Palko is someone who doesn't.

Zach Miller? Is he still allowed to catch passes?
:goodposting: This guy worth trading for? I know the line was a bit banged up but he's vanished from the offense.
I'm curious to hear what Seahawks homers think. From an outsider's viewpoint, seems like Carrol is a buffoon. Pay all this money to Zach Miller to do nothing? Bring in Tavaris Jackson?
Depends on what you mean by "do nothing" I suppose. I think fantasy football wise it looks like they didn't utilize him but from a blocking standpoint he was fantastic. The O-line is still extremely young and was going to have growing pains.Tarvaris Jackson costs $4 million a year (not starters money, 2 year contract) as a placeholder while the O-line gets into shape. Furthermore with the shortened offseason I'm not sure how well anyone would fair in a new scheme. Most of the reason for Tarvaris was because we brought in Darrell Bevell as OC and a system he already knew. Most of the fans see what Carroll, Schneider and McCloughan are building and are very excited. People seem to think that getting that QBOTF first and then building a team is the only way to do it, but I prefer the build a team and draft a QB since more often than not they don't pan out. I think outsiders very much want to see Carroll fail (I suspect because of the USC scandal) and aren't really looking at the team he inherited and where they are now. That defense is about to be a top 10 defense and the running game was really clicking at the end of the year.Homer glasses still on...we think the Seahawks are about to become a top team again, and this time with people soon to not be clowning the NFC West.

As a Seahawks homer I am very happy what Carrol and Schneider have done. The league will be respecting us soon as Pete is building a strong team. All we need is a QB and a pass rusher and back to the Super Bowl we will be.
