I'd rather replace Avant. Guy can't get open for anything. WR definitely on the draft list, but we still need to go BPA, period. That's the huge thing if Foles can be the guy...we can get CB, or safety, or Ol/DL, whoever
Agree that Avant's time has probably come, as great an Eagle as he's been. I honestly though Damaris Johnson would get some time in the slot this year, but not so far. I guess with him and Jackson on the field together, that's a whole lotta small.
I'd fear for his life if Damaris played the slot.
Until he learns how to field a punt, I don't want to see him play at all.

Add Rodgers possibly being out next week to the list of reasons to feel good about beating the pack next week.
I see it as nothing but a another Nick Foles excuse.
…how's that, again?

Hate to play a team with a man injured, especially arguably the best QB in the NFL. But if Seneca plays the way he did in the second half tonight, this becomes a realistic possibility of a W we desperately need on the road.

What I think ShaHBucks is saying is if the Eagles go into Green Bay now and Foles has another good game, the excuse from some will be its because Rodgers was out. I had the same thought. If Foles goes and puts up 360 and 4 it'll be because GB couldn't run their offense.

What'll the line be? With Rodgers I'd have said GB favored by 7... Might be a pick'em now, if not Eagles as favorites
With no Rodgers we should be the favorites IMO
I'd hope we aren't the favourites. We are 1-4 when favoured, I want the underdog role where we are 3-1! It's still in GB, so I think it will be like GB favoured by 1.5. Anyone seen any early lines?

I guess so, but not sure who would say that. I think he will deserve some praise if he goes in and beats this motivated packers D on their home field and puts up good numbers doing it.

Deserves yes. Will he recieve though? Dont want to get too ahead of myself though. First he has to play good.

Still in Lambeau. I'd say GB -3.
It opened at GB -10 before the injury, GB -3 sounds about right.
I was looking around during lunch and didn't see an updated line. Most still had GB -9 or so but off the board. I guess Rodgers hasn't been "officially" ruled out yet.

Looks like the line is GB -1 to GB -2.5

You guys know about the "Football Life" featuring Randall Cunningham coming up on NFLN in a few minutes, right?

Loved me some Plastic Man! :banned:

Lets not get Cooper crazy now. He beat up a rookie corner who couldn't stay on his feet all day. He's no more than a number 3/backup WR in this league. We still need one, maybe 2 more WRs for next season.
Here we go again
So forget about Maclin or any other receiver because Riley has arrived?
As far as Cooper goes-- What are his average #'s with Foles starting at QB? Do they look like a number 3/backup WR in this league? Has his play looked like number 3/backup WR in this league?

4-120-1 on 6 targets @TB

6-88 on 7 targets versus Dallas

5-139-3 6 targets yesterday

The only way you're NOT Cooper crazy with Foles starting is because you're either one of the following:

  • A Vick fan
  • Black
  • Blind
I'm none of those, just don't think he's our long term answer as WR2.
Don't you think waiting it out and seeing him with Foles for a while will give you a better idea if that's true or not? He just turned 26.
Sure, I have an open mind and it can be changed. (but I'm not holding my breath ;) )

It amazes me how people in this town have been begging for an accurate pocket passer that can efficiently run an offense for years and now that we possibly have one, everyone is looking for a reason why he is not the guy. Listening to the radio I feel like I'm on crazy pills.

I just hope people get over it when Foles does this the rest of the way. Even in his terrible game he still didn't turn the ball over. What more do we want?

I've mostly avoided talk radio this week, especially when the subject turns to Foles. I'm not even sure if he's the long-term answer. I just think he has to be the short-term answer. If he keeps winning, what else matters? All I keep hearing is "the system, the system.." Ugggh. Just go win. If its with Foles, so be it.

2012/2013 under Vick they are 5-11 for a win% of 0.313. Under Foles they are 3-6 for a win% of 0.333. I don't see the short-term downside to Foles.

You can't listen to these guys. It's all sensationalism and negativity sells. The disappointing thing for me though is the Inquierer newspaper. These clowns take the negative spin every chance they get. I appreciated Phil Sheriden but he moved to espn. The other writers are a joke.

Maybe 14 more TDs without a turnover??

Yea I'm not sure how many home games we have to lose to move on from Vick

If Foles wins 2 of our 3 home games we have over the next month, he will win all the fans and talk radio hosts over.

I remember hearing those same things about Kurt Warner.

I'm gonna go 31-14 Birds. I could be surprised but I don't think Seneca Wallace is going to do much better than he did on Monday night. They just need to contain Lacy and Starks.

Heard an interesting stat on the radio today. Sean McDermott's Panthers Defense is allowing 13.4 points/game this season, 12/game over the last 4 weeks (their current win streak) and no more than 15 in that stretch.

FWIW that stretch was against:

Vikings

Bucs

Rams

Falcons
I know. Still impressive.

I'm really struggling with the game this week. I'm scared to say that we win.
They have to win. We don't have many road games left.

It is impressive, but coaches change drastically with different personnel and situations. Andy is 9-0 and almost a lock for COY too. Doesn't mean we should have kept either of them, they both needed a new situation to thrive in.

Actually I think it was just another shot at the old andy regime for dumping him after a year.

Nice win today. Defense stepped up again and Cooper still sucks. ;)

Anybody else you guys want me to say that sucks, so I can turn their season around? As long as they win I'll eat the crow. :)

Washington next. They get 10 days rest and should be plenty motivated for this game. Will be tough.. especially with how we play at home. Should be a fantastic game though, and Foles better be ready to throw the ball a hell of a lot more then 18 times!

Nick Foles is first player in NFL history to have a passer rating of 149 or higher in consecutive games [minimum 15 attempts. #EaglesTalk

5:10pm - 10 Nov 13

This week is big. Very winnable game with big division ramifications. I think foles will have his mind focused this time. We should roll the skins. One step closer to foles being the guy long term.

If foles becomes the guy, that makes this rebuild so much quicker. We can go defense heavy in the draft instead of worrying about getting a top qb. This defensive scheme has a chance to be something special if we can get the right personnel. Exciting times for eagle fans.
