Only if I had a futures bet on a player winning an award would I be truly upset by something like this. Otherwise, I have no vested interest in what hardware these guys haul in.If this was Chris Sale, you'd be pissed too. This is like what scoring in Olympic events was like when the Soviet Union was around. Block voting.
I wonder how many baseball writers get switched over to the football beat. The one writer said he turned his ballot in a week early, but if he had JA Happ 3rd he cashed his chips in August. Verlander had an amazing finish, but I guess they stopped watching baseball in August. Just gross.
I can see Sanchez third but Happ? And ole Britton sucked up a lot of 2nd and 3rd place votes also. That didn't help JV.
Verlander got more MVP votes than PorcelloI would have voted Betts, but can't really go wrong with Trout.
Guess I'm not the only one ####### betts.I would have voted Betts, but can't really go wrong with Trout.
Congrats on this, posty. There are not a lot of small things when it comes to you, but this victory helps fill that void.Ditka slow on the draw again. Color me shocked.
He doesn't suckKris Bryant has had a heck of 4 year run.

fair enough, but the pendulum swung far more the other way not that long ago... where the magical "20 win" season seemed to well overcompensate for pitching to the score.Thinking out loud, if wins for pitchers are considered less important in Cy Young balloting, in some ways that only goes to hurt pitchers with decent run support. For example, if a team jumps out to an 8-0 or 10-1 lead like the Red Sox did in a bunch of games, someone like Porcello has a lot less incentive to try to get every batter out. Just get the ball over the plate, don't walk people, give up a few runs, and call it a day. So winning 10-4 is good enough. In that case, the team wins the game but the starter may have just gone on cruise control. But for balloting purposes, the win doesn't cont for much but the 4 runs in 6 innings looks bad.
