2017 Streaming Defenses (3 Viewers)

I lost a championship last year after the DEN D imploded in KC in week 16.

Im probably going to lose this week after the Chargers imploded in KC.

Note to self - never start a DEF playing in KC during the FF playoffs.

Deciding between MIN at home against CIN

or

NO at home against NYJ

Both great options. Really looking for that D/ST TD's. NO just seems like they will dominate just a tad more and flying around picking off who? Petty

MIN is in at the moment. I like them both!

I was holding BUF and DET, wasn't in love with either matchup.  Saw LAC on the wire, to me they're all around the same spot so I went with the hot hand.  KC has given up some sacks lately, Chargers have been on a roll...  #boltup or whatever.

@J R I don't love BUF either, Miami is playing inspired ball.
maybe I need to reconsider.   Moved the Skins into the lineup but really don't like it.

Would people be making pre-emptive moves on PIT for Week 16 on the road against HOU? Better play than DEN/DET?
yes, if available.  S

Curious -- what do you think are the top options for Week 16?

Jags

Chargers

Cardinals

Redskins
   that's my pick, mostly because the top 20 defenses are rostered (large benches, many teams have 2 Ds)

I'd roll with Minny, but you're in a good spot with either.

Redskins have scored negative points in four of the last seven weeks.  Can someone explain what I'm missing?  Currently have bills in on def but not feeling very confident.

My opponent originally had Philly which I was OK with given it was a division game and you never know how those are going to play out.  I went with NO.  Opponent picked up Vikings and played them instead of Philly - currently that is a +23 point move in my league's scoring.  :kicksrock:

I dropped Minn after I noticed they had no DEF TDS for me this year. Of course they did this week.

I think the more important question is what they're missing, and the answer is like half of their lineup to IR.

Roll again with MIN at The Pack and R O D G E R S (if he plays) or stream a p'd off PIT D, LAR, PHI, CHI, or CAR? I'll wait and watch to see what GB decides to do with Rodgers, who is now prone for turnovers because of injury recovery mode.

Held chargers through last week (played No) everywhere.

Starting them with semi-confidence at the NYJ.

Hoping Petty has a 4-5 turnover classic!

I was initially dismissive of the possibility that GB would sit Rodgers, and gun to my head, I still think it doesn't happen, but it does appear to be a possibility.

If Hundley plays you obviously have to use Minny D. That said, LAR/CAR/PHI (in that order) are also good choices.

Really? I'm going after Chicago. Chargers had -2 last week and on the road again at a Jets team that didn't lay down and die as expected. Hmmmm.....
Not overreacting to one week. Chargers have a legit good defense and are seven-point favorites against Bryce Petty. Bears are a decent play, but as a team they're not that good, and would it shock you if this ends up being Cleveland's only win of the year?

My rule is when in doubt, go with the better D.

Good points man and I'm not trying to argue--just getting as many quality opinions as I can. Here's what scares me about chargers: traveling to east coast, heart broken last week and they face a jets team that can and will run the ball and that's the Chargers weakness. I can see Powell and the other two doing to them what KC did. On the other hand, Petty inst Smith so there's that. No easy decision in the championship!

Steelers, Chiefs and Cards available on WW this week.

Thinking of Steelers, but Shazier missing seems to have stopped their run defense from being at all effective.

Miami traveling to Arrowhead seems like a pretty juicy match up.

Similarly, Gints traveling to Arizona seems like a good match up but who knows.  They just dropped a big game on the Birds defense so I don't really want anything to do with them.

Think I am sticking with Wash D.  Paxton Lynch is turrible and they took care of business against gabbert and co. last week.

In the LCG but dreading making this decision this week

Wash v Den

Rams v Tenn

Chargers v Jets

Leaning Rams but Wash did me solid last week so not sure. Don't think I'll go Chargers as Jets didn't lay down against NO last Sunday. If Lynch is starting for Denver then Wash would be a no brainer wouldn't they? The Rams get after the QB but I don't like the game being in Tenn as much as I would if the Rams were at home.

Only options are NEP and PIT. Probably rolling PIT with Yates at the helm. Most of the D’s are rostered. Some out of the playoffs picked up a few of the good ones the last few weeks..(MIN and CHI)

Rams@Ten, ChiefsvsMIA, Chargers@NYJ, PanthersvsTB all available.

Stick with Vikings @ Green Bay or switch off for Championship?

ALL good to great options in my opinion. I tend to watch the news and get a gut feeling as the week progresses. Rams have been awesome. For me it's MIN > LAR by a nose. And it's very enticing to like the other two options as well. You'd think Petty would be turnover prone like Winston is now and then. Tough call - choose wisely.

So where does Minnesota land on rankings now?  Top 5?
ESPN consensus ranking is #6 behind BAL/JAX/LAC/PIT/CHI. FWIW, Minnesota has been a much better NFL defense than fantasy DST this year. Last week was the first time they had scored a TD all year, and just their second time scoring in double-digits (to be fair, the other time came in the first GB match-up). Similarly, the Packers under Hundley haven't been that great of a fantasy matchup despite not being a very good NFL team. They imploded in the Baltimore game, but otherwise the most points they gave up in a game Hundley started was 6.

I'd say they're certainly a solid play, but not sure they have the upside over any of the other elite options.

Never thought Defense would be my bane, Eagles over Vikes last week was a 30 pt mistake, pulling hair out this week over Vikes on road vs those tempting home defenses of Eagles, Bears and Panthers, will be changing my mind a lot this week

I decided on WAS v DEN - should do OK no matter who plays QB for DEN but my expectations will go up if P. Lynch gets the start.

Gotta decide between Pitt and Phi. Leaning Eagles but that recent meltdown has me worried. Like they are at home while Pit is on the road but Pit should hammer the Texans as should the Eagles hammer the raiders.

Got outbid on the da Bears so its the Chefs for this guy in the 'ship. Hoping they can force Mopey Jay into one of his "don't care" games where it gets all sorts of ugly for the Fins.

ETA: thanks for the whopping deuce, KC

Deciding between Jags and Balt.  Going with Baltimore at the moment.
Every trend holds until the moment it doesn't, but Baltimore has been really dependable this year in that they've underperformed against good offenses and overperformed against bad ones.

I understand the concept or argument that Minnesota is a great real football defense and just a decent fantasy one. I see them ranked as high as #2 and as low as #15, a big swing. Green Bay play conservatively and get beat by 10 or more? Or go after PIT on the road who really haven't done all that much? CHI against the Browns? LA Rams?
