2018 draft day bargains, redraft? (1 Viewer)

Never too early to start planning for next season...

Antonio Brown will probably still be the 1.01 but maybe the injury leaves a bad taste and it’s Gurley. Like the bill at an Amsterdam brothel, it probably depends on positional preference. (Ba dump, tsss!)

So who is going to drop in 2018 drafts due to injury or poor play or poor team around them in 2017? What 2017 first rounders won’t be in 2018? Like OJ Simpson, i’ll take a stab at a few ( ) but would love to hear your suggestions for this topic.

i could see ODB falling precipitously. The Giants were hot garbage this year, but clearly Eli still has something in the tank, and the Giants will have a draft & offseasob to figure things out.

Eli for that matter could be a nice QBFF target - I mean he was this year, but as a “24th QB off the board” kinda pick.

Watson is my #1 taret for QBFF as my QB1 everywhere. I can’t see him go By higher than 6th or 7th round, unless the ‘sperts fall in love with him, which I concede is possible.

Any love for Indy receivers or (gulp) Luck? Not sure I’d want to risk it - they’re talking 2nd surgery, Luck doesn’t want to do that - could get Ugly.

Olson is another guy who should have fallen off but a hot finish will keep him in the top 5 rounds, and a year older I’m not so sure that’s a good thing.

Another TE, OJ Howard may be the opposite effect. Not sure how secure Brate is, and Howard looks like an athletic specimen out there. His injury was flukey & not career threatening. If he becomes the TE1 & plays 70% of the snaps, he could easily put up top 5 numbers.

Winston is another nice QBFF guy next year - I think he still has a breakout season coming. TB needs to figure out how to protect him & they need to figure out a feature back. Another decent draft & I love what Winston could do.  TB’s defense needs to keep them in games, and the OL needs work. But Winston has shown a lot of flashes of great play.

Mike Evans - yeesh. What to do with this guy in 2018 redrafts? He fell to 7-8 in both my 12-Team leagues. Is he really going to be a 2nd rounder next year? I would likely still be in at that value. As mentioned with Winston & Howard, TB seems almost like they have to put it together at some point. Just too much talent not to.

AJ Green - this one’s tough. Cinci has regressed significantly. On the upside, Mixon looks like a solid feature back, and the Bengals now know for sure that Andy Dalton is not the answer (at least I hope they realize this). Trouble is that AJ McCarron has not been impressive. At all.  So Who’s the 2018 QB for the Bengals?

Dalvin Cook - could be a bargain in 2018. Only downside to him is Murray & McKinnon both showing well in his absence. But IMO the backfield will be workhorse Cook’s if he recovers well. I expect him to stay around 2-3 ADP.

That’s all I’ve got off of the top of my head - who am I missing? Which hurt or underachieving players will be a bargain in 2018 as a result?

TY Hilton. Luck’s return makes all the difference. Back to WR1 status.

Jordy Nelson. People are completely writing him off. Major mistake. Will still be a solid WR2 at worst in re-draft.

Amari Cooper- was overpriced this year and will be undervalued next year. Has been very solid two of first three years.

Great call. He’s kind of the perfect post-hype sleeper. Carr should be able to find his mojo, if AC can get hold of the dropsies & run crisper routes I love his upside as a sleeper.  Wonder what his ADP will be....3rd? 4th? (Gasp!) 5th?

I will give one for each position.

Luck - He is the type of qb that is smart enough to succeed when his physical traits start to diminish. The only difference is we expected this to happen in his late 30's, not his late 20's and that is if  he doesn't fully recover, which none us know yet. I think he goes off the board around qb12 or later next year.

Rb - I honestly think it is a random rookie back, but for this exercise I will say C.J. Anderson.  I think he will be going as rb 24 or later. I expect Denver to do something  big with the qb position. They have good receivers and a super bowl caliber defense.

Wr - Josh Doctson - this was really his 1st year, since his rookie year was pretty much lost to injuries. He has shown flashes and I see him going as wr 36 or later.

Te - Stephen Anderson - We know Hopkins will dominate the targets, Fuller is the big play guy, but Anderson is going to be the guy over the middle and he might cut into Hopkins red zone looks. I see him going as te 18 or later.

He’s going to be a nice value - the TDs should rise significantly with Pierre Garçon back.

which reminds me: Pierre Garcon - this dude may fall off the radar completely, but he’s a legit PPR WR2 with WR1 upside, especially now that the Niners have a QB who can get him the ball.

Judging by some posts in the "2018 redraft: what does the first round look like" thread some don't have D Adams in the 1st 2 rounds. Assuming he stays in GB, I think he'll be great value in the early 3rd round as my 2nd WR.

That’s a great call. ARod back, Cobb inconsistent as they come, and Jordy another year older and a TD or bust guy who can’t get open like he used to....Adams may end up a bargain 3rd rounder.
