2020 College football thread - It's the offseason, yo. (3 Viewers)

Didn’t she win a title in her sport? Seems a lot more embarrassing that Vandy can’t get a first down or even compete with a terrible Missouri team.
It certainly is. The team is crap this year and they don't need someone just showing up yelling at them for not cheering. Especially a kicker. Add in their coach getting fired and some of the players apparently just said #### it.

And now she’s a IIRC grad transferring to North Texas to play soccer.

Apparently Sarah Logan spoke to the team at halftime about things and they weren’t too pleased about that. Then, the SEC makes her Special Teams Player of the Week. I can’t imagine how bent those guys are, and I don’t blame them.
What does "spoke to the team at halftime about things" mean?

That is pretty wild for someone to say their first day on the team.
Yeah, I'll say.  There's nothing she's saying that's wrong, but that's pretty ballsy (?) for a brand new player to do something like that.  That reflects pretty poorly on Vandy upperclass leadership on multiple levels.  All that said, if that's the real reason the players are refusing to play this week, they're soft as hell.  Protesting a coach firing - that I understand.  Protesting a teammate for giving an impassioned-yet-very-ill-advised halftime locker room speech?  Nah.

I’m sure they aren’t protesting the speech. That’s probably just angry bro Twitter lighting a match.

I always thought celebrating a 1st down was pretty stupid.  Now I'm not so sure.  Feel like if I ever get to return to a sports bar I'm going to celebrate every first down made with unbridled enthusiasm.

All you hear is that football is mans sport played by the toughest and baddest athletes on the planet but apparently yelling at them is their kryptonite :lmao:  if the team really is that soft the players should just quit and concentrate on school

:lmao:  They should be bent at being 0-8, they should be bent at giving up 600 yards to Missouri.

Odds that OSU missing another COVID game and the BIG amends their rules allowing them to play in the BIG Championship anyway?
100%. There is absolutely zero chance the Big 10 sacrifices the money that comes along with having a team in the playoffs. None. Nada.

If the Michigan game is cancelled and the BIG amends the rules, that would be 6 total games for OSU.  (they will have 6 if they play in the CCG or not).  Kind of puts the playoff committee in a tough spot.

That last catch by DeVonta is one of the greatest catches I've ever seen.  I thought that ball was 2 rows deep in the stands.  I thought it was a mistake when he came back, but if he stays healthy, I think he got himself a much better payday.
