2020 College football thread - It's the offseason, yo. (3 Viewers)

Probably not. However, the story just showed up on FS1’s chyron.

I’d say this story is picking up steam.
Maybe it was local news, but Jerry came out and said he'd make Jerry World available in the event the venues couldn't host either NFL or NCAA games.

Nothing the committee can do about it but Notre Dame - Alabama and TAMU - Alabama are both unwatchable wastes of time.

All these years in and I can’t believe how much the playoff sucks.

I’m conflicted as an ND fan. Of course you want into the playoffs so you at least have a chance. I don’t want any part of Bama assuming this is the same group and mentality that’d take the field. Talk about a thud from 10-0 to this game and that one.

Of course you want your team to get in, but you’ll be a 24-point dog by kickoff. Beats playing in the carquest bowl or whatever though.

I’m not sure there’s anything to do - as long as you have two powerhouses that are head and shoulders above everyone else every year you just have to wait for one or both to come back to the field or have someone step up.  Maybe Meyer needs to come out of retirement.

If it’s Bama in the playoffs vs Florida or Georgia in a non-playoff maybe Bama isn’t so bad. Not like any of those three teams is any easier after this showing.

I’m pretty sure DeVonta Smith could make millions more if they draw ND. Man he’d make our secondary look awful.

As always, it pains me to say this but I think the best team to be #4 is UGA.  They didn’t have either of their first two QB options coming in to the year - one opted out and the other was a transfer coming off injury.  Once they got Daniels playing they’ve been pretty good on offense.  They would give anybody a game, IMO.

I will now go vomit and punch myself in the nads repeatedly.

You have the best resume.  You're in.  Take the money.

You’re totally correct.

Pac12 Champ Oregon just sitting there, easily a better team than Notre Dame.

Oregon vs Bama

Clemson vs Ohio State

Who says no to that????
Most of the committee who also put a lot into GAMES PLAYED. Read something today if Florida somehow beats Bama they should get in because it's the biggest win of any team all year. Would have to reward that over teams who barely played all year. Yes we know ND beat Clemson but that was without Lawerence playing too. Either way a lot to discuss and I think the committee needs to award the teams who actually played games over those who didn't.

We're super lucky tonight folks. We are seeing two offensive players who may be top 10 picks for each school tonight in Smith and Pitts respectively

jesus christ, man

From Brett McMurphy:

USC has opted out of playing in a bowl this season. Pac-12 down to only 3 bowl teams (if Arizona State wins & accepts bid)

That drive was Gator defense in nutshell

- dumb penalty

- wide open receiver

- missed tackle

- can't get off field on third down
