I know nobody wants to talk about the Bolts but leading the league in points with no Kuch or Point and after losing that vaunted third line is extremely impressive to me.

Just shows how much depth they have. They have 21 different players with at least 1 goal, meaning they can score from almost literally anywhere.

Sticking with them, they win 2-1 over Ottawa, and Stamkos records his 900th career point.

By the way, I’ve gotten into watching the Hat Picks and Dang Its put together by Steve Dangle. The guy is fun to watch/ listen to, maybe because he’s a little bit younger than I am.

I've been pretty impressed with most of the kids with the exception of Cal Foote. I know it's tougher for young dman to get up to speed, but he just looks lost out there at times.

Looks like ABB is the new Cory Conacher

wow

@DarrenDreger: A shocking announcement in Winnipeg as Paul Maurice resigns as head coach of the Winnipeg Jets. Maurice will explain why shortly. His family is fine. There’s nothing sinister. It’s a personal decision.

Local Winnipeg guy here ... that was the classiest exit speech from one of the classiest guys in hockey. I wish Maurice and all the best and absolutely agree with his decision.  There just comes a time when you know it is time to move on and this was it for him.

I've always been impressed with him and would love if Gorton got on the phone posthaste to see if he can persuade Paul to come to Montreal. If he wants time, no problem, Habs can ride-out the tank with Dom this year and have PM lined up for next season.  I don't think he speaks French though so that may be the first show stopper due to silly "requirement" in Habs land.

Have a feeling he will take some time off based on his presser. Looks like he needs to regroup/recharge before he takes on a new gig. Habs would be a great landing spot.

Pretty great article on Scheifele on the Athletic that kind of put the blame on Maurice for playing him so many minutes when he's terrible defensively.

Welp, I had 8 tickets to the Avalanche vs. Red Wings game on Monday.  Supposed to be part of Christmas presents for my kids, nieces, and nephews.  We're only in town for a week, so now I'm pretty much screwed.

What is with goalies misplaying the puck lately? It’s happening like it’s going out of style, goalies either not judging a bounce correctly or outright firing the puck directly to an opponent who then proceeds to immediately make them pay for their mistake.

Also, those Jersey jerseys are horrific in action.

@frank_seravalli: Sources tell @DailyFaceoff: #NHL, #NHLPA have agreed to suspend all operations for Dec. 22-25 and will re-open team facilities on Dec. 26 no earlier than 2pm local time. No practice, no testing during those days.

Tuesday’s 2 remaining games will be played - pending test results.

Flyers are one of 2 games and they just added Kevin Hayes to the list today. They already had a couple forwards on list
