*** 2021/22 Stanley Cup NHL Thread **** Congrats 2022 Avs Cup Champs! (1 Viewer)

cav bailed on me and no shesterkin, so i am passing on the game tonight.  guarantee georgiev gives up a goal in the first and last 5 minutes of period 1.  rangers make it 2-1, but the sieve gives it right back, 2x.  1 bad goal in the 3rd and an EN 5-2 loss.

How does Ron Francis have a job

@RussoHockey: #mnwild have traded for Marc-Andre Fleury. It’s going to be a conditional pick. Waiting on specifics.

Kahkonen being moved.

New Jersey should be all over him. (a bunch of other teams too, but give him a real shot somewhere)
Kahkonen has started 46 games in the last 15 months (40% of the games over that span), I would consider that a "real" shot.

looks like a solid backup long term to me.  he does play much better when he knows the net is his but I'm not sure how you ever earn a full time job if you are always looking over your shoulder.  he's still young though.

agree that several teams should be interested, good depth option regardless.

I don't think MAF is much of an upgrade at this point unless he goes into one of his streaks.  defensive lapses is the bigger issue right now.  Kahkonen is RFA and due for a decent bump and they have zero room.  with Wallestedt waiting in the wings and coming over next year I don't mind this move, makes sense.

Watching TSN TradeCentre and it's a lot like watching WeatherChannel covering a minor hurricane. Bunch of people trying to convince that there's a reason to stay tuned and not a lot going on

Av's are  being kind of quiet right now.

Was thinking about going to see Wednesday's game, but not sure I want to drop that kind of money for 3 tickets.

Yeah, I don't think Fleury is a huge upgrade either. I would play them close to 50/50 and go with the hot hand but I'm sure they'll hand the reins to MAF.

Pending the official trade call, but Rangers get Justin Braun from the Flyers in exchange for a 3rd RD pick in '23. No salary retention.

Sources: the Anaheim Ducks are shopping offers on Rickard Rakell right now. I can report Boston and Vegas are in advanced talks. Believe the Rangers were involved at one point, not sure if they’re still in it.

I'm pleased with what Gorton/Hughes have been doing this TDL. A couple 1st rounders for Toffoli/Chiarot (albeit late). A second in 23 for Kulak. A second on 24  from the Avs (maybe they'll be bad by then 🤞) plus a young right shot D for Lehkonen.

Getting the rebuild in motion.

LOL...zero 2022 draft picks.

@charlieo_conn: So setting aside the parts of the Giroux trade that were meant to clear up contract space, their deadline haul was:

Giroux for Owen Tippett, 2024 1st (conditional), 2023 3rd
Braun for a 2023 3rd
Brassard for a 2023 4th

nyr pick up copp, braun, motte and merkley.  they lost no prospects nor #1s.  somehow, they obtained a former 1st rounder for anthony bitetto….lol

Zach Aston-Reese, Dominik Simon, a prospect and 2022 second-round pick apparently the return to ANA from PIT on Rickard Rakell. Trade call not yet done so nothing official just yet.

TRADE: We have acquired forward Zach Aston-Reese, forward Dominik Simon, goalie prospect Calle Clang and a 2022 second-round pick from Pittsburgh in exchange for Rickard Rakell.

When you really really really want to get rid of a guy.

@mnwildPR: The #mnwild has traded Victor Rask to the @SeattleKraken for future considerations. The Wild will retain 50% of his contract.

ANA/LV trade coming down: Dadonov and a second in 2023 or 2024 for John Moore and Ryan Kesler’s contract.

Like what they did. Doesn't seem like there was really "that guy" out there for them to elevate them to the top of the conference. But by strengthening those last 4 or so spots and now hopefully having four solid lines I could see them getting hot and making a run behind Shesterkin.

Not so fast.

Apparently Vegas doesn’t bother to read the contracts of their players, because Dadonov has a no trade clause that allows him to designate 10 teams he can block trades to. The Ducks are one of his 10 teams.

Vegas is complaining that nobody verbally told them about the clause before THEY traded FOR Dadonov..

Awkward.
