So In the rookie rankings poll there are ties in the standard scoring and PPR poll between Trevor Lawrence and Trey Sermon.

I have tried to let this work itself out but the tie just continues to persist so this run off poll will hopefully resolve that as people voting for other players at this point can help break the tie.

Once this is resolved then I can move on to pick 1.09 of the other poll.

Thanks for voting!

Still early but I am seeing more support for Lawrence in the PPR poll while more support for Sermon in the standard scoring poll which I think makes some sense that Sermon more valuable in standard scoring than PPR.

My vote was for Bateman in the main poll but I voted for Lawrence here. My reason being that Lawrence was the 1st overall pick and Sermon was a 4th round pick. Looking at it this way I might even change my vote to Lawrence over Bateman despite how QBs are not that valuable in start one leagues.

3rd round pick* (88 overall, so later 3rd).

I cannot understand how Lawrence would have the upper hand in PPR but not standard. Sermon may not profile as a prolific pass-catcher, but surely he will catch more passes than Lawrence.

Yep thanks for the correction on Sermons draft position.

Sermon made some good catches downfield that I saw and I think he is above average for a RB based on some of those plays.

You are right that Sermon should catch more passes than Lawrence does but the difference in scoring between standard and PPR tends to favor RB more in standard relative to WR which does not matter for this poll but did matter in the main poll. People are just more bullish for the RB in standard compared to PPR. The poll is still very close right now but that is what I am seeing with 15 votes in is that Sermon is ahead by 2 votes in the Standard poll but Lawrence is 2 votes ahead in PPR.

I get what you are saying, and Sermon should be worth more in standard than PPR.

Just kinda chuckling at and trying to wrap my ahead around how at least 2 people voted for Lawrence in PPR and Sermon in standard, when those are the only 2 options. Short of a trick play here and there, Lawrence scores the same amount of points in PPR vs Standard. Sermon scores more points in PPR vs Standard. So how does going from standard to PPR change the pick from Sermon to Lawrence?

anyway, it's not really important. Just a little thing I noticed that doesn't make sense to me. Hopefully the poll gets wrapped up soon!

You got me thinking about the time when Brad Johnson threw a TD to himself. Lawrence a lot more athletic than Brad Johnson. 😄

But yeah I am grasping at straws a bit trying to make sense of why people might be voting how they do.

I do find it interesting that these two players are this close to the same value that this run off poll was needed.

I like Sermon, but I would easily take Lawrence ahead of Sermon without hesitation in pretty much any dynasty format.

Demand is much higher for RBs in standard scoring and the supply of potential high scoring RB options is lower than in ppr leagues. Higher volume RBs score better compared to other pass catching positions in standard leagues.  RBs don’t score more nominally nor do they gain vs QBs nominally, but they are more highly valued due to their scarcity and potential to be the top scorers in a standard format.

My impression was both high volume RBs and QBs get a boost in standard. But that's a good explanation.

Man still amazingly close after 46 votes. I want to wrap this up soon though. Maybe just need to note that the run off poll was needed and that its pretty much a tie.

Sermon does have a 3 vote lead in the standard poll. Lawrence is only ahead by 1 vote in the PPR poll right now.
