2024-25 NBA Thread: Stephen A leading ESPN’s draft coverage by yelling about players he’s never heard of until now (140 Viewers)

So I turned the game on to see 6 3-pointers in a row, and quickly, then another bucket, that was nuts. 20 points in no time. No clue the total, but over/under players sure got a jolt.

Draymond is the worst
Odd way to spell Dillon Brooks
I just watched a four minute stretch before he went out where nothing Draymond did could be considered a basketball play (Brooks isn’t great either). Green can do so many good things out there, but he does some pretty borderline-dirty stuff too.
He does it constantly after the whistle or on the way down the floor. Intentionally moving into guys instead of going around, keeping his arm bar in their chest, locking arms, lifting his arm through their body, etc.

I'd argue Brooks isn't that much of a dirty player and his reputation is far worse than his actions. Sure he's a pest on defense and talks loads of smack but generally doesnt cheap shot or stoop to levels of Draymond.

Mmmmmmmmm… I don’t know about that.

GP2 would disagree on that

No doubt. Of course, the refs asked for that last night by officiating that game like a 90s Knicks-Heat playoff game. That was just ugly for the sport. Basketball should be a beautiful game, not the abomination that was last night.

I agree.

IMO, the "it's the playoffs, let them play" mantra has gone too far this postseason. Guys are getting mugged up and down the floor in almost every game.

I'm speaking on what I've seen in Houston - playing tough defense, making 3s and providing leadership. Physical sure but dirty, I dunno. I haven't seen many if any cheap shots. Seems he suffers more from his Dillon The Villain reputation with all the bs techs and tight whistles. I'd argue you guys need to stop living in 2022. He's clearly reformed under Ime's guidance :sneaky:

borderline?!?!
Well he does do a lot of borderline dirty stuff in between doing all the dirty stuff.

Pat Spencer and Pete Nance might be the first time that Northwestern has two alums in the NBA at the same time.

I had to look Spencer up. Was a standout Lacrosse player at Loyola for 4 years and picked up basketball in Graduate school at Northwestern.
Not only a standout, he won the "Heisman" of college lacrosse.

Yep, Also went 1.1 in whatever the professional lacrosse league draft is

It is playoff basketball time in Detriot. Tried to get tickets tonight, but couldn't find anything worth while.

We drove by where the Palace at Auburn Hills used to be over Xmas break. It's now a landfill. :lmao:

I like about 20 minutes from there. It was such a nice arena. Didn't know they extended the landfill all the way over there.

Well, to the best of my recollection, there was always a landfill nearby, so maybe it just looks more pronounced without the arena. My twins thought it was a mountain and wanted to go climb it.

My wife used to park cars at the Palace. Met a ton of NBA players that way. Said Reggie Miller was one of the nicest guys she's ever met.

I went by it and the Silverdome today.

Listened to the sportsradio in detroit today, barely a mention of the game tonight. All draft and Tigers talk.

So. I just got home for the tip off. I had a hair appointment. I asked what time it was as she was finishing up and she said 6:40. I had the other hair stylist run my card and I ran out and forgot to tip. Guess I have to go back tomorrow.

I don't listen to a lot of sport talk since I work from home, but that seems not good.
