2024 Philadelphia Eagles - Slick move by Howie to sign Morrow so fans will clamor for Burks. (87 Viewers)

FYI, all the analytics models had that as a “Kick the FG” call at the end of the half.

I think Nick being a CEO coach has put him in the mindset of “I have to prove my worth somehow” and it is manifesting in him constantly trying to show how smart he is.

Yep and ideally they’d be winning 6-3 now. Hes feeling the fire

Fran Duffy really does a nice job of breaking down the games after watching it back. I feel a little bit better about that last Atl drive after hearing his thoughts on how it played out:

(it's in the beginning like from 35 second to like 10 minutes or so.

ETA: lol, woah. Am I watching youtube in German or something? that link looks pretty funny. i clicked on it from the post and it goes to the right spot so all safe (I think)
The board has been doing that with all YouTube links for like a month or so

Also: cliffs notes on what could make you feel better? No matter how good atl might have been or what other random things might have happened, it’s a terrible job to give up a TD in that situation
i was happy to know that it seemed less on Fangio. The DL was given different stunts and other stuff, and they just weren't clicking. so potentially this will get better with more adjustment to Fangio's defense
Everything I have read about Fangio is that he is a legit DC with a strong pedigree. I cannot think of a reason 2 games into the season why all of a sudden he is the problem.
Iirc, the Dolphins fans here were not sad to see him go fwiw
Nor were the Cowboy fans sad to see Kellen Moore hired. Some of those decisions have to be put on him.
This whole “fans weren’t mad to see such and such go” is high school babble. Some fans liked them, some hated and some thought they were everything in between. Stop acting like a fans feeling on these issues matter lol
You can’t take hearing that the fans who regularly watch the previous employer were glad to see him gone? It’s not a dig, it’s group think that the guy sucks. Proof was the next employer in a different town felt the same way. Don’t be so sensitive. If it makes you feel better, Barkley was a great hire at RB?
Everything is a dig with him and a few others
Eagles fans are tough lol. So soft it’s sad

Yeah “soft” and “sensitive”….thats why I spend days off commenting on threads of teams I dislike in my free time 😂.

I don’t like soccer. Maybe I’ll sign up for a message board and tell them how much I dislike it….everyday….for years. Like I said, pathetic.

Great Googly moogly 🤦‍♂️

The potential on the defense can be flat out scary when the DL brings it like they’re capable of.

To go down there and get a win when you’re HC is trying to throw the game, losing your entire right side of the OL and Smith is fantastic!!

Something has to be done with Sirianni too. This **** has to stop.

I don't know how it's possible, but I feel both great and bad about this game. I still believe Hurts has tremendous talent, but the turnovers are out of control. As I said in the game thread, I put the pick more on SMith, but the fumble can't happen. The offense was down 2 lineman and an all pro WR and still moved the ball fairly well. The defense was fantastic.

BUT Sirrianni? WTF with these decisions. I like being aggressive on fourth down, but not with 16 seconds on the clock in FG range. Makes no sense. Another FG for Saints set up by going for it at midfield and failing too. Just leaves an uneasy feeling.

This frickin team. Don't know what to make of them. Defense made a 180, especially the d-line. Didn't think they had it in them and glad I was wrong, hope they can keep it up. Though Huff was still MIA. Did he even play this week?

Sirianni's decision making was baffling. I love aggressive decisions, but they need to be smart with situational awareness. End of the first half down 3-0 with no time left, you kick. Dumb. Start of second half, since you didn't kick earlier and haven't been able to score, again kick. If it was tied, I'm all for going for it. Then when you're only up 1 you decide to try and kick a 60 yard FG? Punt and pin, let them try and march against your defense that is playing so well, not give a short field when they only need a FG to take the lead.

RPOs should be permanently deleted from the playbook. Wasted play every time. Same with any designed run where Hurts runs laterally along the LOS. Get them the F out.

Hurts is equally frustrating. Makes so many good plays, then gets dumb or careless. First pick, Smith needs to run a better route, but probably a throw that shouldn't have been made anyway. No excuse on that fumble.

Speaking of Smith, the NFL can STFU about player safety. How was that play not blown dead earlier? They're the reason he got killed. Pathetic.

I hate wins that make me cranky. If you told me yesterday they'd only give up 12 points I'd be thrilled with the anticipated blowout win. Can just hope guys are healthy and they keep growing. Also, gotta stop ignoring the preseason and treating the first 4 weeks as tune-up games.

Is this like the first game we ever won where lane didnt play? Feels like it

It's the first in awhile.

I really.hope lurie sees it like we do. Hes holding this team back. No one will miss him if hes canned. Just promote from within and get his *** out of the building

Problem is the interim will be Moore. Idk that he's ready. Nick is the coach for better or worse this year. Season will have to be FUBAR before he's canned.

Yeah...I'm frustrated with him, but can't can him with where this team is at right now. Finish like last year though.........

I’m sure our Moore stalkers will love to see that one

Lane played. Not all, but he played.

The pick was on Hurts. Even Greg Olsen mentioned that’s a throw you make in between to the bigger more physical AJ Brown not a guy like Smith. If it is, it needs to be near perfect. Maybe not all the blame on hurts and some goes on whoever called it as well. KYP “know your personnel”.

I’m not sure if he planned on kicked that FG Elliot missed but if you are on 3rd and 11 call a run and pick up a few extra yds or a quick slant or mesh drag see what happens.

Absolutely mind boggling with this coach.

This sounds like Nick scapegoating again throwing Cordinators under the bus

I took it as a power trip type of thing. He decides to go for it and calls the play. Like a triple whammy of suck

One thing I forgot in my rant post. When NO was driving to take the lead, why did they not call a timeout with 2:40 left? Drove me crazy. They got the ball back on the opposite end of the 2 min warning. Luckily, it worked out, but that was dumb.

He’s literally doing the opposite here. He’s taking ownership of a bad play call and exonerating Moore from making it.
