*** 2024 Pittsburgh Steelers: Watt in, Pickens out week 16 vs Ravens (5 Viewers)

I’m no analyst but I rewound a bunch of plays today.

Someone please show me Jones making a good block. Ugh, we traded up for that. 2nd teamers today
Jones was fine in this game, but it was against backups and less than a half of work.

He isn’t mean enough or something.
He was pretty good last year. It must be injury related.
He really wasn't. He was OK for a rookie.

Yea, I hope that I am wrong about him. He is a better pick than Kenny Pickett, for sure, and when we made it, I was excited -- until I saw an interview with him. Something about him seems off or "soft" to me. But what do I know?

Any other WRs we think may shake loose via trade or roster cutdowns?

Need another CB too with that Sutton suspension being so long.

Appears Omar big shot was Aiyuk at a discount if things go south in SF or ride with the current roster. Nothing in FA to get excited about over Van Jefferson who has been working his tail off. Depth behind Pickens isn't exciting & even he gets lazy in his routes. AS is going to earn his paycheck scheming up plays to get the ball in Pickens' hands. Roman Wilson will hopefully take over the slot as the season progresses.

OL needs to develop or Russ is going to get killed out there.

If so, this offense is going to be bad. It desperately needs another WR who can get open. Expect double coverage on Pickens and stacked boxes all year.

I agree. It feels like nobody is ever open.

Fields could look better than Vick, Cunningham and a young Russ Wilson rolled into one, and he isnt playing ahead of the old Russ Wilson on the franchise stuck in 1978.
Lifelong Steelers fan from SWPa, and this is the first year I can remember I don't like this team. I'm thinking 4-13 bad.
Maybe that's needed. Failure. Purge. Rebuild. But they will go 8-9 or 9-8 and remain in purgatory.

Steelers have McCormick, Anderson and McCollum who can play C. No need to waste time on Hassenaur.

He'll be fine, once the lunk heads running the show get him back at LT, i just dont know if that will be this year. He's too quick out of his stance on pass pro, gets too deep, and DL have their whole spectrum of moves to use on him. On the right side, you dont need that big jump back, he needs to get into the DL quicker, and hold his ground, he's a monster, he can hold his own vs the best of them.

Its the overall offense that depressed me, I'd give them a D- preseason grade. But maybe it will be a reversal of last years A+ preseason and D- regular season. Time will tell.

The whole WR core revolves around the development of Roman Wilson.. If he develops fast, he is the #2 and they could be ok with Jefferson as 3, and Miller. Plus Muth and even Pruitt has decent hands. But I hate putting stock of the season in development of a rookie WR.

But who knows, maybe he will be the next Justin Jefferson.

John Metchie made the Houston Texans roster. Take this with a grain of salt due to a phenomenal preseason. Teams are currently inquiring about him.
