2025 College Football Thread: FSU loses to Stanford in battle of academic powers (9 Viewers)

My god the refs are ****ing Auburn
I just turned the game on, all my AU friends on Facebook have said this is one of the worst officiated games they've seen. Was coming to ask from a less biased perspective.

I’m biased too (hate UGA) but every call has gone to UGA and some massive ones. How was that not targeting when the other one was?
Now my timeline has a bunch of Bama fans also saying "this is really bad against Auburn".

It’s unreal how bad it’s been.

Reluctantly realizing Indiana football wins will be now useful for my Illini as if we get to 10-2 with the only losses being Ohio State and Indiana that suddenly doesn't look so bad.

Not saying we get in but the case might be better than I was thinking.

Yuck. Good game. That wraps up this one

I think you mentioned upthread that you saw USC for the first time this season in the Illinois game and that their run defense was weak (it was). Their front seven had actually been pretty decent up until that game, especially their pass rush (led the league in sacks at that point). So it was odd to see the D-line get completely blown off the line all game.

Well there has been a rumor that multiple members of the defense had been affected by food poisoning. Kamari Ramsey was actually throwing up all night and missed the game due to food poisoning. The team has dismissed the rumors but there was a lot of chatter from inside sources about that possibly being a contributing factor. Of course no one wanted to make a big deal out of it lest it look like excuse making for a poor showing. But after seeing the front seven’s performance tonight, I’m thinking there may have been some truth to the rumors.

@bigbottom your boys were the better team. Good win. Better days ahead for Michigan.

Send what you've got on over when you want to collect.

Really sucks that Haynes went out. That was a huge difference maker. Thanks for the friendly banter, and wager. I’ll give it some thought and link you to something (I didn’t already have one picked out!). Cheers my friend and best of luck the rest of the season.

That's officiating malpractice.

I know I don't know what a catch is, but damn, I thought I knew what a timeout was.

This will sound like whining but I don’t give two craps about Auburn. Georgia WR block before the ball is thrown all game.

And they shouldn’t have given Kirby that TO

Well, I had a bunch of ideas that were probably way worse, like a close up of Ryan Day’s smiling mug, but honestly I didn’t want to have to look at that every day in this thread. So let’s just go with this. Apologies in advance.

Could be worse, could be much much better. I accept my fate and am glad the month is up before oSU makes the trip north in November.

Eta. Now i need a shower 🤢

I really want Michigan to use Underwood's legs more.

I heard during the game that Underwood just turned 18..going to take some time learning this season but he has the looks of a #1 overall pick in 3 years. Underwood has the size and arm, also puzzled why they don`t use him more in the run game. Moore is way too conservative.

Looking like this will be "Small Game James" last season in the Valley. PSU should beat Northwestern with a backup QB.

Yeah, he turned 18 just before the season started. He's showing all the potential in the world and with all the young talent this should be a really good team the next few years. It's been fun to watch him improve as the season goes along. These big road games are tough for such a young kid, but he's shown he can handle the big stages. He could really do a lot of damage as a runner if they ever decide to let him go.

I love it @The Longtime Lurker! You want to set a similar wager for the 11/29 game?

SC looked really good and physical especially on the online missing their starting left tackle, center and then their top two RBs for the game.

Got to get turnovers down, second week in a row where a first quarter turnover really impacted flow of game. Going up 14-0 would have been curtains for Michigan in the first quarter.

Again, Maeva’s pick was sort of what he looked like last year, super reckless and that was critical where going up 17 at the time would have effectively ended the game.

Thankfully our kicker came through as when he hit the 54 yarder putting SC up 17 I knew that was it.

Riley is finally learning how to clock manage in the fourth quarter which is dramatically improved from last year.

Most important was the lack of penalties USC committed.

With that said another game another horrific play by the secondary allowing a routine pass play go for 65 yards. Really the absolute worst secondary I have ever seen. I think the guy was a backup safety but some of these guys have no business being on the field of a D1 program.

If they play like they did yesterday and clean up the turnovers should be in a very good spot to beat ND, but still haven’t convinced me yet they can do it on the road.

One thing to add, Michigan’s QB is about the worst I have ever seen in D1. You can’t be thinking you’re a legit program running someone like that out. I thought Michigan’s QB last year set the low bar for terrible QBs but this dude takes the cake.

If that is who your QB is just run the wishbone like Army 50 times per game.

Same bet? Pick the avatar for a month, nothing obscene (though i think what was done to me is borderline)?

Yes sir!

Hello friends. I've had my head in the sand the past 24 hours. I assume all the games were good clean, well officiated contests?
I had a family wedding to attend yesterday (dang kids) so could only really follow along on my phone. There were so many wtf moments watching the score updates.

The Kirby Smart timeout "no I was clapping" is one of the more bizarre things I've seen. What a lying POS. He was literally even saying "timeout". Not that it matters, but there should be a fine for that.
