Texas Tech is pretty good. The only loss was with the QB hurt. Ohio State seems to be a notch above everyone else and maybe Indiana but they are beatable. A&M, Alabama, Georgia and Ole Miss are all good as well as BYU, Texas Tech and Oregon. After those 9, it drops off quickly. I can't think of anyone else that even deserves to be #10.
I predict the committee will put Indiana #1 over Ohio State because they do crap like that.
To me, it makes sense to put Indiana #1. They have the better wins. We know the committee will continue to hold Texas at a much higher regard than deserved. OSU's best win is against who? Washington?
Depends on how the person doing the rankings qualifies "Best". The AP voters keep pushing Texas up into the rankings. Oregon, the feather in IU's cap, hasn't looked all that good, especially given their struggle to beat a flailing Penn State who is now circling the drain. No matter how you dice it, OSU and IU will be the top two, IMO. It's a coin flip. But if you go by ESPN's metrics, I think OSU will be #1 and IU #2.
| Metric | OSU | Indiana |
| Record | 8-0 | 9-0 |
| SOR (ESPN FPI) | 11 | 12 |
| SOS (ESPN Resume) | 33 | 39 |
| AP Poll | #1 | #2 |
The Buckeyes have the better SOS and are more efficient on both offense and defense. The Hoosiers have flashy wins against inferior opponents, but still hang their hat on that Oregon win that seems to be degrading a bit as they continue to move down the polls, while Texas continues to rise - all thanks to that fun SEC bias
