Yeah in week 1 of preseason so he's had a lot of time to recover. All we can do is hope recovers. The prognosis for that is a lot better than it used to be.

I view the Quinn/Patricia regime on a two-track basis. Obviously, the long-term goal is to win a Super Bowl, and if they never do that, they almost certainly won't last in their jobs. (The only coaches I can think of that have hung on with their teams for a long time without winning a Super Bowl are Cowher, Fischer and Marvin Lewis. The former works for an organization that never fires coaches, and the latter two, well, that's not exactly the model I would want my franchise to follow; also, both Cowher and Fischer did at least make it to the Super Bowl early in their tenures.)Mt. That's fair. I just meant it in the sense that he wasn't going to take them further. He had them in the mix for the playoffs every year, but they weren't going to become a Super Bowl contender with him in there.
Eh, you can't think that way. There are always going to be good teams. But things can also change quickly. A year ago we all figured Seattle was going to be an NFC power for a long time, and the Rams were a laughingstock. Green Bay looked like they had a stranglehold on the division, now it looks like Minny will.
True but Seattle seems on the downswing- D is falling apart, OL is awful, very weak collection of skill players.

Ugh, I don’t say this often, but I’ll pass on Blount. Use a mid round pick on a rb. Or sell the farm to get barkley. If saquon somehow gets to 4 and Cleveland is listening do what it takes to move up.

I agree with most of this, but not Blount. Dion Lewis is an UFA, rumors are flying about C.J. Anderson getting cut, Jeremy Hill, Demarco Murray. There at least a half dozen backs, not counting rookies, that I would take a run at in free agency before Blount.
Another day, another article about Lewis to Detroit (rotoworld). We have some New England guys in there now so naturally our rbs next year will be Blount and Lewis. After the last 4 years of trying to bang out a run game with 200 lb rbs I hope we go a different direction. I’m not really hoping they sell the farm for barkley but if he slides to 4-5 I think it should be considered. What would it cost to move from 20 to 4? A 2nd (outside of slay our 2nds have been terrible) and a 1st next year? I don’t think that’s insane to do or sets us back much. I agree it’s certainly more likely that we use a 2nd-4th, or go the fa route.
Without looking at the chart I would guess it would be a 2018 1st, 2nd, 4th and 2019 1st and 4th.
Excellent. Addresses serious needs. I’m interested to see if Settles drops that far in the 2nd. Penny is who I see the Lions taking as I don’t see them drafting a RB until the 3rd this year.

nah, build that oline through the draft, I think the TJ Lang/Wagnor thing showed us, aging overpaid veterans is not the way to build an oline.
They did not have much of a choice. Poor planning ahead to end up with the front line they have. Reminds me of when they passed on Aaron Donald when Suh had one year left.

not taking a RB instead of tez tabor is going to hurt too, well they can make up for it this year, but they have so many holes in that front 7.....
nah some co-ordinator shouldn't have that kind of pull. your scouting department and GM have to make the decision to take the most talented player.
No way. As a GM, you have to tell your OC to run off if he's advocating a TE in the first round. Especially if he's not even remotely a "generational talent." Ebron was just a B level prospect.
The Teez pick better show some fruit this year because there were several better CB prospects on the board when Teez was taken. Many of them are already paying dividends.
