2025 Philadelphia Eagles - Fangio is so angry after watching that Phillies game last night, defense is going to get a shutout and 8 sacks today. (36 Viewers)

Is AJ breaking up with us?

He grabbed his keys and said he was just going out for smokes.

I’ve heard from several people since BG called out Brown and AJ on his radio show that they have a rocky relationship now. Brown has always been a bit of a diva and his attitude issues dropped him to the 2nd round as he was a top 10 prospect and one of the top 2 WRs in his class.

I don’t know what happened between the two and no one wants to seem to talk about it either. AJB is definitely frustrated with his production and lack of balls to him and could be voicing frustration. But if he’s becoming a locker room issue that’s not good. This is all for me to say come the offseason if we hear Eagles trade AJ Brown it’s not gonna surprise me.

There were rumblings this offseason that AJ Brown was going to get traded to New England.
That was started by Boston radio. My cousin who lives up there said the guy who started always comes up with hyperbole trades and other stuff. The Philly media Raj with it given the disconnect between AJ and Hurts. I have a feeling if it’s continued then Brown is traded. Depending where we are near deadline and if he becomes more of an issue does he get traded during this season? Rare and could shock people but I don’t put anything past Howie. Though more reasonable I could see AJ traded during the draft to move up as well.

Just friggin fix the passing offense man. This isn't THAT hard....

You can't fix the passing offense because Hurts cannot sustain a passing offense. He's running QB first and foremost. He runs because he can't pass very well and the offense is built around that, not passing. Heck, even running he can barely get over the goal line w/out needing help.

When the tush push gets banned next year he's going to be in trouble.

He'll need a handicap to keep him motivated for the 3 peat anyway

I’ll agree with you outside barely getting over the Goalline. I’ve said for awhile Hurts isn’t a consistent passer. However it’s not all his fault. The OC is an issue and I feel like Nick is getting too involved again. Hurts is one of the strongest if not the strongest QBs in the game.

My comment to the rest of the league on the tush push? Get in the weight room son. Even before the Tush push the Eagles ranked in the top 3 in QB sneak success. When Wentz was here he was known as one of the best Sneak QBs being compared to brady in that regard. It continued with Hurts. Have a QB who’s really strong helps but a lot of credit goes to the OL.

Low key worried about that hit Jalen took, where the flag got picked up because they got his shoulder, not his head. His head still bounced off the ground like in the WSH game last year. Could be one of those things that gets identified later as a concussion.
Yeah, he looked a little woozy getting up, too. I was pissed at the cheap shot, until they showed the replay.
I don't believe he completed a single pass after that, FWIW

Neat!

it's painfully clear that offensive line is the single most important aspect of every football team. Without at least 4 above average to good pieces on the OL, your stars mean nothing.
And this is a bigger issue with our offensive struggles than most are letting on. Dickerson is having by far his worst season as a pro. Jurgens and Steen have been bad as well.

The OC usage of them has been poor too. We used to use Kelce and Jurgens’ athleticism as smaller centers and pull them. I don’t think Jurgens has pulled a single time this year.

What drives me crazy about the offense, other than the determination to run Barkley into the center of the defense time and time again, is what seems to be complete lack of imagination in the types of routes the WRs run. Every pass seems like it's a vertical along the sideline or a run down the field and turn around route. Hardly any crossing routes or slants or anything else.
100% and what’s crazier is he was the pass game specialist in Indy in 2020 and the pass game coordinator here since 2021! Sure as hell looks like Moore did a ton of heavy lifting last year as OC.

Which doesn't make any sense. The guy was obviously here last year. How does he not have that in the playbook?

Lane has missed time in both of the last two games as well. It’s obviously not Jason-Peters-mode yet, but another couple of mid-game pulls and it’s going to start smelling like Jason-Peters-mode.

The Eagles had an 82% success rate on dropbacks against the blitz in Tampa Bay while being blitzed on 36% of dropbacks.
It's the best performance against the blitz by any team this season in a game in which they were blitzed over 25% of the time.
Was that just the 1st Half? Jalen was awesome against the blitz 1st Half.

He didn’t complete a single pass in the 2nd Half.

I would suggest seeing an opthomologist. You might be blind.
Most analysts agree that Hurts is NOT a very good passer. Not nearly good enough to sustain a passing offense, which is why he needs to run.

You mean 2023 Chris Simms and no one else? Like I said, neat.

I guess EVENTUALLY the Hurts naysayers and haters will be proven right. Hopefully it's after another Super Bowl victory or two....but I'm fine with a regular season MVP runner up, two Super Bowl appearances, a Super Bowl win, a Super Bowl MVP and beating pretty much every other QB supposedly better than him in the head to head matchups in the past few regular seasons.

Nope. You should try this new thing called "The Internet" instead of getting your information from a single source. The only "neat" thing going on here is your ability to ignore reality.

It’s the same nonsense over and over. Yes, he is not a QB who can carry a team by himself with his arm. How many QB’s today are? 🤔

He needs a good supporting cast like most QB’s. When he has that, he does awesome most times 🤷‍♂️

The reason you keep hearing it is because it's true. And you everyone knows it's true. He's not a terrible QB, he's just another run of the mill running QB who runs because the passing skills are not there. Sure, he has good days, but has mostly average or bad days and it's a reason he runs and needs help getting over goal lines. You're so wowed by the running stats and assisted TDs it never occurred to any of you to look at his passing. You're paying a RB to play the QB position.

“Landon Dickerson has allowed three sacks and 13 total pressures in 2025, per @PFF.

Dickerson is now on pace to allow 12 sacks and 55 total pressures this season.

His previous career-high is five sacks and 38 total pressures in a single season (2023).”

Do I care that you(or others) think he's not the best thrower in the world when he's accomplished all of that as a QB? The short answer is "No". The long answer is "HELL NO! The guy got my team a Super Bowl and has led this team to one of the best team stretches in NFL history". He might not be a great thrower....he's a great football player.

You’re right man, and thank you for your insights and opening this guys eyes at least. I guess all we can hope for is that we find a qb someday that can lead us to a winning year, a playoff berth and maybe, just maybe, a Super Bowl. Tall order obviously and clearly a ridiculous one with a rb at qb, but we can still dream. Thanks for your persistence in letting us know how terrible our Super Bowl mvp qb actually is. You’ve got a convert in me.

He ain't wrong. And honestly, AJs been pretty subdued about it. I'm sure he's been speaking up behind closed doors to no avail.

I don't understand how he doesn't have at least 5 designed plays to get the ball to him every week. He's a game changer. Scheme him open.

JFC, would you quit with the anti tush push stuff? It is NOT what has made Hurts effective, that's an absurd statement that has been debunked statistically numerous times

The Eagles first 4 opponents have combined 9-6-1 record. The Bills first 4 opponents have a combined 2-14-0 record. This AJ stuff needs to calm down. Yes we have work to do but we are ahead of schedule.

Yeah, was thinking a bit about this today. The Eagles have had a tough schedule and are getting the best other teams can give. I'm concerned about the inconsistency on offense BUT they have shown they can be explosive. Last year they were 2-2 after four games and didn't look so great then either. The season is still pretty young, and Nick and this team have earned a little trust/leeway.

Your opinion is greatly appreciated but don't try to pass that off as fact.

Packers fan right? Tied the Cowboys right?

Let me know if I'm wrong, trying to set a foundation of reality here

Hurts is 4 win away from breaking the all-time record for most wins in a row by a QB.

You guys are letting a poster who's team just tied the Cowboys, a team that a Hurts led team beat multiple times last season. You're letting that guy derail the thread with demurrer arguments?

When the tush push gets banned next year he's going to be in trouble.
JFC, would you quit with the anti tush push stuff? It is NOT what has made Hurts effective, that's an absurd statement that has been debunked statistically numerous times
Just because you disagree with it does not make it "debunked".

Your opinion is greatly appreciated but don't try to pass that off as fact.
Packers fan right? Tied the Cowboys right?

Let me know if I'm wrong, trying to set a foundation of reality here
Distraction won't work. Regardless of whatever team I may root for, that doesn't change the fact that Hurts isn't a very good passer.

I realize you want to change the narrative because, well, SIDEZ!!!, but looking to attack the messenger is not how you win arguments.

Hurts is 4 win away from breaking the all-time record for most wins in a row by a QB.

You guys are letting a poster who's team just tied the Cowboys, a team that a Hurts led team beat multiple times last season. You're letting that guy derail the thread with demurrer arguments?

See the post above. Ad-Hominem attacks don't disprove my argument and they certainly don't prove yours.

Is AJ breaking up with us?

He grabbed his keys and said he was just going out for smokes.

You are coming into a thread of the Super Bowl Champs from last year, who are off to a 4-0 start while not looking good at all - but beating 2 for sure playoff teams, probably another in the Chiefs, but also beating the team you guys literally just tied with, while they were at full strength.

Might want to look into the mirror to see who is trying to distract who

You should learn what demurrer means. Here is a translation: Even if everything you said was true . . . so what?

You're argument is a nothing argument because the things that you're arguing really don't matter when it comes to being a winning QB.

Not talking about the Eagles, I'm talking about Hurts. Is there some kind of Eagles Review Board I have to submit questions to in order to get a topic to talk about approved?

Be better than using Ad-Hominem attacks at posters simply because you don't want discuss and/or face a topic.

Super Bowl ring says debunked on the side of it

Yeah, was thinking a bit about this today. The Eagles have had a tough schedule and are getting the best other teams can give. I'm concerned about the inconsistency on offense BUT they have shown they can be explosive. Last year they were 2-2 after four games and didn't look so great then either. The season is still pretty young, and Nick and this team have earned a little trust/leeway.
I don’t agree with a lot of ESP’s takes but he had one the other day I agreed with. I’m paraphrasing but he was basically saying we’re now at a level where we’re being judged like dominant college programs. Where if we don’t win a certain way or by so many points it’s almost a negative. I couldn’t agree more.

We lost a lot of quality players and coaches (how many OC’s is it now for Hurts?), have some poor play, younger starters and players dinged up. That’s all before you factors in the opening schedule. With all that said we’re 4-0. Patullo has been overall what I think rational people expected. We were never going to replace Moore’s experience. As bad as the offense is at times it’s shown some flashes. Hopefully they become more consistent.
