Sources: Eagles OLB Nolan Smith strained his triceps Sunday, and now is expected to be sidelined through the team’s Nov. 2 bye. He could return for the Monday night Nov. 10 game at Green Bay. Smith had triceps surgery a week after the Super Bowl and aggravated the injury last week. The plan now is to let him rest, then return after the bye.

Marginally concerned about tomorrow. Todd Bowles just seems to know how to rile Hurts. Missing Evans helps us but very concerned about Egbuka against our CB2 (is it adoree or Keelee?).
Picturing a close game, where we’re possibly behind in the fourth quarter. Defense makes a play and Jalen leads a comeback drive.
Could totally see us dropping one here but I think we pull it out.

Have 2023 vibes here. Too predictable in second half. Note to IQ Patullo, try a pass when you have the FB in, teams are just loading up on the run there.
This 2025 team is so much different than the 2023 team. Not. Even. Close. I just do not see the same things I did in early '23.
I also cannot fathom Sirianni losing touch with this team like he did then. It just will not happen.
No game should be easy this year. Struggles will continue. Handling that adversity is where the Eagles separate themselves from other teams. As it should be.

You guys really remind of the Patriots dynasty. You generally win all 3 facets of the game, never turn the ball over, do whatever it takes to win, clutch QB, great coaching, etc, etc. I mean you certainly have not looked like complete world beaters yet but you’ve held off 3 really good teams (and Dallas). That was exactly what the Patriots would do time and time again.
It would not be comparable to that NE dynasty but I would be thrilled with 1 or 2 more SB titles in the next few years under Hurts/Sirianni.
Hate to say it but, I doubt another QB/HC can put together that kind of sustained success ever again.

Well its just switcheroo is all. The 2023 defense is the 2025 Offense and the 2023 offense (which was scoring points, just turning the ball over) sorta comps to the 2025 defense, but yeah the 2025 defense is LIGHTS OUT this year and usually defenses like this do not fall off.
But I will stand here and say this offense feels like that 2023 defense. But its worse bc at least this offense you can literally say "these are some of the best players at their position" you couldn't prob say that about anyone on that 2023 defense.
But I get the overall point of not wanting to compare teams bc year to year teams really are super different

I'm not talking about the defense. I'm talking about the offense and the "win is a win" mentality going on in here. The defense will be fine because we have a guy who, well, actually ran a defense before. I said it before, I'll say it again, I can't believe a team with Super Bowl aspirations handed the keys to the offense to a guy who never call plays in his life, let alone at the NFL level. You'd think the Eagles learned their lessons from 2023 but it appears they didn't.

Yeah, this is my thought, too. ‘22 Defense was so dominant because of the pressure they generated: 70+ sacks. That’s unreal.
Then, in ‘23 you get Desai and pencil boy, you get the secondary dropping off a cliff. And you wonder “What the hell is wrong with them?”
2025 Offense is the similar. Last year’s Offense was a juggernaut late in the season. Saquon was unstoppable- even when teams knew what was coming, holes big enough to drive trucks thru and Saquon hitting holes in 5th gear.
This year? Not completing a single pass in the 2nd Half, committing to the run to salt away the game, and the best RB in the NFL manages 40-something yds?
Rams game, not adjusting to 5-man fronts in the 1st half and committing to run Saquon because he was so dominant against them last year. Finally uncorking in the 2nd Half and staging a massive comeback that relies on flukey ST play to block 2 FG attempts.
They returned every single starter on an Offense you’d build in Madden in Dynasty mode. Patullo has been here the whole Sirianni era- why are they so flat and stagnant for stretches?

Yesterday they had a formation with a FB and ran out of it. Then they had the same formation and ...yep ran again. Based on how they line up, I can correctly guess around 75% of the time whether it's going to be a run or a pass. I'm sure, professional coaches who are watching film and diagnosing tendencies are probably in the 95% range.
I thought some of the plays they ran in the first half were pretty good. Then it appears they went into halftime and AJ Brown probably threw a hissy fit and then the zeroed in on him to abysmal results. Where was Gothurt or Skinny Batman?

In the last 12 months: triceps injuries to Defensive Ends BG, Nolan Smith, and Oko. And BG and Smith both re-injured them after the first recovery. Very odd.

What drives me crazy about the offense, other than the determination to run Barkley into the center of the defense time and time again, is what seems to be complete lack of imagination in the types of routes the WRs run. Every pass seems like it's a vertical along the sideline or a run down the field and turn around route. Hardly any crossing routes or slants or anything else.

And my hate isn't just because I'm a Washington fan, I'm pissed because I'm an AJB owner in multiple dynasty leagues. He is wasting his prime years in this offense. Feed the man or trade him please!!

Watching red zone on Sundays, it's painfully clear that offensive line is the single most important aspect of every football team. Without at least 4 above average to good pieces on the OL, your stars mean nothing.I hate the Eagles, but man that is impressive. Same goes for DL. Being unable to get pressure on the QB is a death sentence for every defense.

They need to ban the turf. In fact Fifa with the World cup here next summer told US officials if MetLife was going to have matches then the surface has to be replaced by real grass. Most soccer players refuse to play on any sort of turf like that and most clubs would not want their players on it. For a league who supposedly cares about player safety the nfl doesn’t do **** about banning turf. Players are getting more vocal by the year too about it.
Now there’s no word if Giants/Jets will keep the grass come football season but it’s a better long haul investment to keep their best assets healthy.

I’ve always hated the boldest here from people. It’s like people can’t let the bias go sometimes and realize hey there’s some concerns here. I remember here in 23 people doing this here and I was getting slammed for bringing up concerns with the team.
I will say this there’s two consistencies here the whole time and that’s Nick and Jalen. I’m not saying it’s their fault per say but Hurts seems thickhead to not try new things like being under Center which I heard Kellen Moore had to twist his arm to get him there. Then you got Nick who it seems if he has a rookie play caller gets himself too involved.
I was really hoping Indy started out poorly, maybe fired Steichen and we could just bring him back. The OC is a huge issue here. There’s almost no creativity or anything here. Heck if I were the Eagles I’d have asked Grudden how much you want to coach this offense? Anytime that guys talks about us anymore it feels like he’s ready to run through a wall. That or they should’ve went to the college level and gotten a college HC looking to get to the next level as an NFL assistant or a college OC.

I’ve heard from several people since BG called out Brown and Hurts on his radio show that they have a rocky relationship now. Brown has always been a bit of a diva and his attitude issues dropped him to the 2nd round as he was a top 10 prospect and one of the top 2 WRs in his class.
I don’t know what happened between the two and no one wants to seem to talk about it either. AJB is definitely frustrated with his production and lack of balls to him and could be voicing frustration. But if he’s becoming a locker room issue that’s not good. This is all for me to say come the offseason if we hear Eagles trade AJ Brown it’s not gonna surprise me.

Wasn’t all BJs fault. A lot of people I talked too and honestnfl put this on Twitter as soon as he was gone was his firing he was turned into a scapegoat. From Tim McManus pointed out there was frustration all around. Brian wanted one thing, hurts wanted another and Sirianni was meddling with both. During his exit meeting with Lurie and Roseman Nick was told he had to do something to fix this or his job was on the line. Nick was to allow Lurie and Roseman to help find candidates and Nick had to put a list together that all three could agree on. If Nick wasn’t willing he either went into last year with his job on the line and if if they had similar issues and had not won the SB he’s been fired.
I know it’s easy for fans to blame this or that but Nick was a major problem in 23 and I hate to think it’s probably happening again. This time with the SB win and all I think Nick bought himself a bit more time.

The Eagles weren’t balanced enough and Lurie wants an Offense that throws 35-40 times a week. That’s just not the style they can run with Hurts. He’s not Mahomes or Herbert or Brady or Rodgers in that sense. It’s why Howie changed his philosophy on RB and banked on Barkley.
