Hey Everyone!

I have been commish of a league that is going into its 9th season. It started out as a bunch of us from grad school, but over time, we have started turning the league over and now only have 6 of us left. Here are the details of the league (which has always used CBS...but we have considered a change)...if we can get 6 to get it back to 12 players, that would be great...but we would run with 10 if we can only find 10......

League Size: 10 Owners

Draft Type: Online-Live Snake Draft (1-12,12-1, 1-12 etc.)

Draft Timer: No timer has been required as of yet as all owners have been fairly responsible and timely with their picks. However, in the event that there is a last minute no show, or a team leaves the draft and does not contact the commissioner at the provided email address or phone number, the commissioner will draft for that individual, taking the highest CBS Sports rated player for their empty starting roster positions first, followed up by bench players.

Draft Date: At a mutually agreed upon time in late August or early September each year.

League Style: Annual Re-draft – Head-to-head (H2H) matchups

League Season: League Regular season runs for 13 weeks = to the NFL weeks 1-13. Playoffs will be held in NFL weeks 14-16

Annual Fees: $250

Standings: League Standings will be based upon the team’s overall record, followed by total points scored and then total points scored against in the event of an overall record tie.

Matchups: H2H matchup ties will be broken by total bench points scored that week.

Roster Size: 16, 9 starters, 7 bench spots

Starting Lineup: 1 QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1 FLEX (RB/WR), 1 K, 1 D/ST

Scoring System: Decimal Scoring, Exact scoring system can be found in the League Details. Highlights are 6 pts for all TDs, 1 pt per 20 yds passing, 1 pt per 10 yds receiving/rushing, -2 for interceptions/fumbles lost, 3 pt field goals <40yds, 4 pt field goals <50 yds and 5 pts field goals >50 yards. D/ST additional scoring is safeties = 2 pts, sacks = 1 pt, yards allowed <49 = 12 pts, <99 = 10 pts, <149 = 8 pts, <199 = 6 pts, <249 = 4 pts, <299 = 2 pts, total points allowed 0-6 = 8 pts, 7-13 = 6 pts, 14-20 = 4 pts, 21-27 = 2 pts

Waiver System: Waivers will process each week on Wednesday night at the time indicated on the CBS host site (currently ~2am EST). Waiver order begins the season in the reverse draft order, and then is based upon who has the longest time since their last waiver move (aka, a waiver move takes you to the bottom of the order). Dropped players go into waivers for 2 days, and then are processed in the same order as mentioned here.

Trades: All trades will need to be reviewed by the commissioner for fairness and if collusion or lopsided trading is suspected, it will go to the remaining 7 teams for a vote to retain or reject the trade. The trade deadline for each season will be the Wednesday at 11:59 EST prior to week 11 games.

Playoffs: Weeks 14-16, 6 team Playoff.

Top 2 finishers in the league according to the standings section above get a bye in week 14 and will be seeds 1 & 2.

Seeds 3-6 will also be determined according to the standings section of this document.

Teams are not re-seeded during the playoffs and are dictated similar to a bracket style tournament.

Week 14 - Seed 3 will play seed 6 and seed 4 will play seed 5. Winners advance to week 15 and the losers of this week are eliminated from the playoffs.

Week 15/16 – Seed 1 plays the winner of the Seed 4 vs. 5 game and Seed 2 plays the winner of the Seed 3 vs 6 game in week 15 and winners advance to play each other in week 16 for the championship and the losers will play each other for 3rd place in week 16.

We will also hold a toilet bowl for next year’s league theme/naming rights will be played with the remaining 6 teams seeded 7-12 exactly as the matchups above are arranged. These teams that did not make the championship bracket will have their ability to perform player transactions turned off for the remainder of the season.

Payouts: Total Collected = $250*10 = $2,500, less CBS site fee $130 (subject to change) = $2,370 for league payouts as follows:

Regular Season Point Champion (Weeks 1-13) = $250, 2nd = $125, 3rd = $75 = $450 total paid

Championship Playoffs (Weeks 14-16) = $1,020, 2nd = $600, 3rd $300 = $1,920 total paid

Payments will be mailed out after week 16 stats have their initial correction period end (Thursday at noon prior to week 17).

I may be interested, we run almost an identical league that has been running for 12 years, except we are also short 2 teams this year too which we run in CBS. The only difference is we just went to PPR since the RB spot is getting ridiculous with a committee in the back field and we do high points weekly, $1 for every transaction which goes in the weekly pool for high points and we went away from divisions because that becomes purely luck. Instead we went to top 6 power ranking teams out of the 12 teams so the best 6 teams get in the playoffs. We also do $2 per player trades so that teams really think before they trade and we use the trade analyzer to see if the trades fair or not. If the trade breaks the 10 point analyzer difference, then we put it to vote, otherwise it gets approved. High points every week is anywhere from $100 to $125 depending on transactions to week 16 and is guaranteed to start out each week at $85. We also run a crapper bowl in our league which is week 17 and that is for the 6 teams who don't make the playoffs go into a different bracket and the winner of that plays the super bowl champ for $100 that last week. We also have a side pool that is optional in this league for the Power Ranking and that depends on how many teams we get, its a $100 buy-in and the Top Power Ranking Team at the end of week 16 gets usually $500 and the runner up will usually get $100 or $200. We usually get half the league in. Our payout is $500 1st - $250 2nd - $150 for 3rd and 4th and $100 for 5th and 6th, all teams who make the playoffs get something. We payout $2720 which we already removed the cbs fees, buy in is $240 plus $35 for transaction up front, $275 total. Most teams usually burn through the $35 easily but some don't and they get it back a the end of the year or they owe which comes out and it is adjusted by CBS every week in the finance section.

I am interested in your league too and I am posting today for our league for the 2 spots. If you get 12 teams, I am interested in your league, though if it is 10, I would not because every team is loaded. I have done the 10 teams before and it really wasn't nearly as fun as the 12. I just did a $20 yahoo league yesterday with 10 teams just in case our league had to go this way and after the draft I am 100% sure our league will not be a 10 team league and that's why I am posting here today to fill the 2 spots.

When is your live draft, ours is scheduled for the Sept 3rd at 7:00 pm eastern.

I am interested. I have a few people that would join as well. We were trying to pull together a neighborhood league at the $250 per team price point, but only have a handful of people.

My email is craig@fortson-co.com

we have never used leaguesafe because we all knew each other in the past...last year was the first year we had someone join from the online community...and the jerk won our league :) (and got paid)....and is back for more this year....
