5 Best Outfielders (1 Viewer)

Going forward into next year who do you want on your fantasy team? Trying to figure out who to snipe from someone else's team for the future. I have too many keepers to keep next year so I need to put a package together and target someone. With Holliday on the DL, he may be the play. Quentin also looks like the real deal but I'd have to buy high.

Current Outfield Roster

Braun (Playing at 3rd)

Upton (2nd)

Hamilton

McLouth

Bruce

Francouer

Francisco

Kemp

Ellsbury

Guillen (DH)

Francisco (Utility)

If you're looking for young guns:

Gomez is going to be Rickey Henderson Lite*.

Bruce will be the next Beltran with better average.

Granderson is in a funk right now, but will be great.

A few off the top of my head at this hour, but I'm wondering why you are targeting OFs for next year when Braun and Upton will/might only qualify at OF next year.

Well I've got Howard at 1st, Kinsler at 2nd, Hanley at SS and hopefully Longoria will be holding down 3rd. That's a good question though. My dilemma is that at the end of the year I will have at least 3 guys that would be keepers on all but two teams in this league. So it's like a FA situation. I need to dish someone now and target a monster or just lose a few guys to the draft without getting anything back. I wasn't really thinking about Braun and Upton being in the outfield only as I'm utilizing their infield eligibility. I just made an offer for Holiday (McLouth and Hamels). Outfielders work fine as we can play 2 utility spots and 5 outfielders and there's just more depth out there in the field. Granderson and Justin Upton are not available. There's really only a handful of guys to go after. I have all but ruled out A-Rod, Utley and Wright as guys I can get. I made an offer for Utley but received no response. Maybe I'll look at Phillips and Reyes as I will need to fill MI.

Regarding upside, keep this in mind on Crawford:

He is the 1st player in MLB history to improve his batting average every year in his first 5 years in the league.

Last year he hit .315.

He is an established, high-priced player for sure...but many think he is still improving and is only 26.

how many OF are you looking to keep? going into next year with braun, bj upton, hamilton, bruce, kemp and mclouth looks like a nice option. i'm assuming you're looking to trade some youth for some more established stars. i'd consider braun, hamilton and upton untouchable (they might all be top 5 OF next year).

based on what it looks like you're trying to do, i think trading bruce is the play here. you have your young superstars to be. if you could package bruce and mclouth for holliday, i'd do that (it could be possible in keeper leagues following bruce's 3-3 debut). you could see about getting crawford for a similar package.

if you're ever going to acquire grady sizemore in a keeper league for cheap, right now might be the time. the fantasy world thinks the entire indians team has become the SF giants.

rios might also be a guy to target. hart, too.

I can't see Bruce even approaching Beltran's steals numbers. I might say a non-switch-hitting Lance Berkman might be a better comparison in terms of their careers. Other than that, I agree with these.
