8-team auction: how does it differ (1 Viewer)

Have done auctions but never in 8 teamer (:insert lame snotty jokes about how easy 8 team leagues are here:) and the setup is one of those POS start 2 QB deals also. Anyone have insight on such a setup?

No first hand knowledge, but I'd guess that going for depth is the opposite of what you should do.

In that small of a league there will be plenty of good free agents all season. There's no reason to spend auction money building a bench.

I'd probably see if the other guys would let me get away with buying 2 of the top 3 RBs and then just fill in around them. :2cents:

I run an 8 team auction league (total points - not H2H). To make up for being a small league, we start 2 QB, 3 RB, 4 WR, 2 TE (no kickers or defenses). We also have a 9 player bench, so going for depth is key. In fact, year after year there's a guy who completely loads up on his starters and spends just about the minimum on his bench. He's never in contention for the title.

However, if this league you're in isn't set up like mine, then I wouldn't worry too much about acquiring depth at the auction.
