8th spot in 12 person PPR League (1 Viewer)

I plan on skipping out on the 2nd tier rbs and going for the number 1 WR's and top 3 QB. Any other routes people might take?

If it was me, If AJ fell I'd take him and go WR again with pick 2, if he was gone and Gore fell I'd take him and go WR with pick 2, and if both were gone I'd take Rodgers and go WR with pick 2. Pick 3 would be play it by ear and see who's there. The problem with waiting until pick 4 to take your RB1 is that it would be someone like Ronnie Brown or Benson. If you wait until pick 4 for a QB you can still hopefully get a Romo/Brady/Scahub but with 6 pts per TD the QB's could go much quicker. You could still get a Rivers/Favre. Personally, I'd be tempted to wait on QB and go for a Favre or Roethlisberger and then get a decent QB2 later, and load up on WR' s and maybe a top 3 TE with my first 5 picks, but make sure I got a pass-catching RB by the 3rd round. So after 5 rounds I'd have 3 very good WR's, 1 very good RB and a stud TE. Or maybe 4 WR's/1 RB or 3WR's/2 RB's, and then go QB/TE in rounds 6 and 7, depending on how the draft unfolded.

Isn't this assistant coach material? Anyway... dragon, what's wrong w/Ronnie or Cedric as RB1? You could do a lot worse. Ronnie always puts up RB1 ppg numbers.
With that advice it appears as though a short stay in the AC forum would be good for you as well.

Well I guess it depends on what your idea of RB1 numbers is. Just looking back from 2005 and on, and it depends on your exact scoring system, but Brown was ~ #23, #21, #24, #16 and #39 in the RB rankings in 1 PPR leagues. In 12 team leagues it would be a stretch to say he put up RB1 numbers in any of those years.....maybe low RB1 in 2008. And Benson wouldn't be there....I mis-spoke. But you might get Addai which would be great if he duplicates last year. But you're right.....I guess you could do a lot worse than Brown.

I'd assume that AJ is gone. At the 8 spot, I'd look to take Wayne, and see if Austin falls in the 2nd. Maybe Manning for a Manning Wayne combo. I don't like any of the RBs at that ADP. Plenty of depth at RB to wait on.

Dragon, I stated ppg. Not end of year ranking. Last year Ronnie was a stud before the injury.
Well I thought end of year rankings would tell the story. You did say "Ronnie always puts up RB1 ppg numbers". Not to belabor the point, but here are numbers then.

2005 - 167 pts - #23

2006 - 184 pts - tied #23

2007 - 169 pts - #24

2008 - 215 pts - #16

209 - 141 pts in 9 games - #39

You can't seriously count anyone outside of the top 15 as a RB1 caliber, and maybe even out of the top 10 or 12 in some cases. They aren't that tightly packed point-wise. You can make obvious tiers of 4 or 5 groups within the top 20. Go to a stat site and compare his point totals. 2008 would have been a high RB2, IMO, and last year might have been a mid to low RB1 had he stayed healthy.

Not sticking up for MrTwo94, but end of year ranking =/ ppg

Would be a nice Dynasty team I think. But I wouldn't be satisfied with this in Redraft. I think this team lands you in the # 6-9 spot in the following years draft which puts you in prime WR territory, so Wards replacement will be here shortly.. I think this team is better than average (2010), but not much better.

No it's not equal, but it pretty much 'tells the story' when we are talking the cut off line for RB1. Unless the point differential between the top 10-25 is very close (which it virtually never is), you could safely assume that RB's 20-25 would not be considered RB1 caliber, and whether #16 could be considered RB1 caliber depends on the point differences between the top 10-16 or so. End of year ranking was just an easy way to illustrate my point without having to post 5 years of numbers for the top 25 RB's in each year.

That was a nice little break down...but if I was in that boat, I'd work it a little different:Keeping in mind I'm big fan of QBBC. I'd love to work some duo of Kolb/Eli/Matt Ryan... Which I could very well get in back-to-back rounds around the 6th/7th /8th rounds.I'd have gone with:1 - Turner2 - I like White the best but won't have a RB and WR from same team, so either Marshall, Jennings or Rice3 - I agree that I gotta have another RB. That drop-off sucks bones. I'd take Moreno ahead of Wells, but that's just me4 - Here's where I'd really change it up...At this point, gimme Gates. I got my 2 starting RBs. A true #1 WR and I can live with the drop off until the next set of WRs. And like I already mentioned, I'm a QBBC guy. You'd have the consensus #1 TE, and you never know, you may just start a run at TE, preserving some value at the other positions when it comes back around.my .02QBs: Eli Manning, Matt RyanRBs: Turner, Moreno, ForteWRs: Sydney Rice, Bowe, MaclinTEs: Gates
