2 Homers in the 7th inning. I really hope he doesn't leave the Yanks. If he does, I blame the d..che bag fans that booed him last year.

Why dont you blame the golden boy Jeter or Torre the sage for never getting the guy's back and moving him from SS to 3B even though Jeter pretty much blows defensively?

Yeah I agree...why would they have booed him last year? I mean, he DID hit 50+ HR and batted .328 in late/close situations (with 6 HR and just 12 K in 58 AB) last year right? Oh wait, no he didn't. That's THIS year. Last year, he hit 35 HR and batted .237 late/close (with 2 HR and 22 K in 74 AB).Furthermore, here are his 9th inning stats for 2006 and 2007.

2006:

35 AB (.143 BA)

3 HR

5 RBI

13 K

2007:

37 AB (.459 BA)

8 HR

20 RBI

5 K

Hey, I've admitted I was wrong about his abilities to perform late in the game (i.e. "clutch" situations, however you define it)...but it's not as if he always performed late in the games in the past. He was bad in the clutch last year. The fans booed. Now he's amazing in the clutch. The fans cheer. Simple as that. Not complicated.

Wow, feel justified in booing someone over a whole 35ABs? First off, plate appearances would be a better stat, as would OBP, but I digress. 35 ABs is NOTHING. TO make any conclusion in baseball off of 35 ABs is absurd. Claiming this as evidence merely shows how insane Yankee fans were to boo him. Nearly as insane as their insistence that Jeter isnt a butcher at SS, that paying 200+ mil for payroll every year for a playoff loser isn't evidence of an underachieving club and manager, and that Steinbrenner is the source of all problems in the organization. 35 ABs, geez I could probably find some way to seperate out 35 ABs of Brad Ausmus this year that make him look like an MVP.

Then I guess the 37 ABs this year don't prove he's been great, since it's such a small sample right?
