Why does your D get penalized when their O has a turnover and gives up a td ? You D and ST had nothing to do about that.

;) I'm sure it just has to do with the fact that they only judge based on total points given up, not on points given up by the defense. There are leagues that only award / take away points for scores allowed by the defense.

Technically...... as soon as the ball is turned over the team with the ball becomes the offense and the team without the ball becomes the defense. So if a TD is scored it's against the defense.

Yahoo doesn't penalize the Def 'points against' if the points are scored on ST or when the offense turnsover for 6 points.

Technically speaking, this is true. There is nothing in the NFL rulebook to formally distinguish what is an offensive or defensive player beyond which team currently possesses the ball at any given moment.

This is getting technical, but, if your D and your ST isn't on the field while a td is scored, they shouldn't be penalized imo. The O giving up a td has no bearing on your D or your ST.

I totally agree with you, but unfortunately your rules must state this. If you don't like it, which I don't, I would look into getting it changed for next year and I would begin this campaign now, because I have learned from the past its hard to get other owners to change their mind on stuff that is already set from previous years. (Been trying and still trying to get owners in my league that I run to go to a keeper league, so far I have about half of the 10 guys in favor of it, but I am going on the second year of trying)
