A look at Value Customized (1 Viewer)

So I was going through my last year stats on Cbs Sportsline. I was looking at the top FP producers as it ended last year with our scoring of course. It is interesting how it breaks down. Anyone can do it with any of their leagues but what does it mean when it comes to Value weighted at certain positions. Here are the top 50 broken down by 10's

2007 FP Leaders in order with our customized scoring.

1-10 = 4QB, 4WR, 2RB

11-20= 5QB, 5WR

21-30= 4WR, 4RB, 1QB, 1TE

31-40= 3QB, 1RB, 4WR, 2TE

41-50= 3RB, 3QB, 1TE, 3WR

So it is farely top heavy with QB and WR. Does this mean RB are more or less valuable in my league(again not just about my league, anyone can do this)? Trying to figure how you put VBD into this situation. If I know that I could take ar RB with my 3rd pick(other then top 2) then wouldnt it reason I take a QB/WR or WR/WR before taking a RB because in the 3rd or 4th round I could get 20-40 FP value and I couldnt get Top 20 with any RB other then 2?

I dont know, just looking for clarification on this.

My thought is that '07 is not a good year to use as a baseline. From a stats point of view, it was down year for RB across the board.

My scoring always looks this way though. It is more of a point that I should take QB and WR first that boggles me.

The thing is, by the 3rd or 4th round those 10 RB's that made the list most likely won't be available. Simple supply and demand, there's only so many quality RB's and every team needs to start 2 (or whatever).

I think your scoring is pretty typical and it showcases how valuable top RB's are.Last year your league has 16 QB's that scored in the top 50 so in a 10 team league you could have waited until everyone else drafted a starter and half of them drafted a backup before getting the 14th-16th ranked QB and still you would have ended up with a top 50 scorer. At RB, however, only 10 players finished in the top 50. So getting one of those top 10 is of extreme importance especially when you consider that in a 10 person league there will be 20 starting RB's as opposed to only 10 starting QB's.Hope that helps.

Makes perfect sense. That was what I was trying to wrap my brain around. Thanks!
