Aaron Brooks (1 Viewer)

Before you accuse me of being desperate, I'm in start 2 QB leagues. That means a healthy Aaron Brooks could have future value -- especially considering that in a start 2 QB league there are often a couple of teams with SERIOUS QB2 problems. Has anybody -- especially homers -- heard anything about (1) his timetable, and (2) whether he's likely to get his job back when healthy?

Aaron Brook's value...-50He actually makes the rest of the players on your team worse.Cut him now and pick up Jesse Palmer....at least he was the Bachelor.

Aaron Brooks, value going forward?Worse than it is going backwards. At least then it over!

Oh come on it's not that bad. I think they have a better shot with Brroks. Walter is raw and making bad decisions (or the one decision, close your eyes and throw deep to Moss). It also doesn't help that he has Moss in his ear telling him how bad he is.

During the preseaon Moss and Brooks started to have a connection. Brooks did not have a chance against SD, and when he comes back I think he has the vet experience to brush off the mouth by Moss and make better decisions than Walter.

I'm not saying his value will be like the hype he was getting at the beginning of the season, but it wil be better than Walter.

Today it was reported in the SF Chronicle that his recovery is going more slowly than expected, and he's listed as questionable for this week. I wouldn't expect to see him in week 7, and he probably still won't be at full strength in week 8. He will definitely get his job back when he's healthy. Walter has been awful.

I think then that what I really need to figure out is whether he's likely to start week 8. If so, then next week could be too late as I'd have to win him on waivers, whereas this week I could claim him at no cost. That's the strategy: claim him the week BEFORE he returns. So I need help looking ahead a couple weeks to figure that out.

That's getting rather Assitant Coach-y, but my guess would be that he will start week 8 after Walter gets outplayed for the Nth time in his career by Matt Leinart this week.

Hmm, I would disagree on the AC thing. Asking when he's likely to be healthy enough to play is not asking whether or when I should add him. I'm making my own determination on the latter. I just need the facts, and then I'll decide how to use them. I think that's appropriate for the Pool.

I'm also in a start 2 QB league, and I picked him up a couple weeks ago and stashed him. I don't know that I'll ever start him, but I waited late on QBs (Vick, Favre, Brunell)... in that situation, adding Brooks for no cost makes it more likely that an effective committee emerges.

It is quite possible that Brooks will come to view the rest of the season as his audition to start somewhere (Oakland or elsewhere) next season. So even though the season has imploded for Oakland, I think he'll be motivated.

People seem to forget that despite his lack of leadership, Brooks has physical talent. Talent + Randy Moss = upside.
