abdullah and woodhead 2nd/3rd string rbs who outtouched and out played (1 Viewer)

I think we all wanna see Abdullah get more volume but this reminds me of Andre Ellington rookie yr. maybe this volume is best for Abdullah long term. The way Woodhead is being used he's the goal line back and hate to say it he's great at it seems like he has a knack on short yardage situations ala Marcus Allen he may end up with 10+ TD HE is a #1 RB in PPR

I prefer Woodhead foe this year. Abdullah was very efficient. He is going to have some games where he isn't that efficient and Cadwell said at his presser that Andullah's role wouldn't change. So I will take the volume of Woodhead for this year. Cadwell is an idiot, but that is for another thread.

I'm a huge Abdullah backer but I have to go with Woodhead. In his first game he had 12 carries, 7 targets (6 receptions) and a boatload of RZ opportunities. Abdullah is more talented and but isn't going to see the type of volume Woodhead could potentially see this year.

Abdullah was good value but Woodhead was a straight up steal.

If Woodhead approaches his 2013 production it's probably no contest.

If Abdullah can morph into Sproles-like production from his 3 years with the Saints, Ameer could do a lot with 175 touches. But I could see him getting 125-150 touches (excluding KR/PR.)

Because, coaches.

Would you keep Abdullah over Woodhead in a PPR league that also awarded a tenth of a point for each punt/kick return yard?

Depends on what you need imo.

If you already have starting RBs and need a high floor extra RB to fill in for you then it's Woodhead for sure. If your RB situation is dire and you need to hope one of these guys is a RB1 at some point I would gamble on AA. Woodhead will never have the job all to himself no matter how well he plays based on the McCoy offense(and he probably couldn't handle it anyway). By the second half of the season it wouldn't really shock me if AA was getting 80% of the production as the coaching staff needs to win games just to keep their jobs and can't afford the luxury of splitting the carries with less talented players.

I certainly wouldn't DROP Abdullah. With Bell's injury concerns he's a step away from being a season-long RB1.

But if somehow Woodhead wasn't drafted (!!?? I had to get him before the 10th round in all my leagues) then do what you can to add him. He's a great re-addition to the SD offense.
