Active shooter at Washington Navy Yard (1 Viewer)

I'd be amazed if there were two shooters. I know it happened at Columbine, but it just seems so unlikely. Hard to believe two people would share in this sort of evil craziness.

Two people just recently shared in the craziness of blowing people up at the Boston Marathon; and, still in the minds of DC area residents, two people shared in the craziness of sniping random strangers.
That was a terrorist event though (Boston).
What the hell is this?? Seems like a terrorist event as well, no?

Somebody said it was disgruntled employee.

If it's terrorism, then of course multiple people might be involved. All I'm saying is that if it's crazy person firing gun, usually it's a single person.

Wonder if those being terrorized by these guys would agree.

Look, every time one of these terrible events happen, we always hear that police are looking for additional shooters. And then an hour or two later, most times we are told that in fact there was only one shooter. Not saying that's the way it will be this time, but I think two or more shooters are pretty rare.

So the word terrorism doesn't really need to have any real meaning?

12 seems like alot for what the initial reports sounded like. Early witnesses said they only heard 6-7 shots total.

It's already been bastardized beyond recognition. The Fort Hood shooter was acting alone. Because he was motivated by Jihadist philosophy, we call it "terrorism." The same with the DC snipers. The fact of the matter is that a mass assault on innocent civilians is meant to instill terror in the public. It's terrorism if we're to grant the term any meaning beyond "violence perpetrated by Muslims."

Michael Scott: I am a victim of a hate crime. Stanley knows what I'm talking about.

Stanley: That's not what a hate crime is.

Michael Scott: Well, I hated it, a lot, okay.

No. Without some political motivation, it's not terrorism.

Reddit seems to claim the shooter stole an ID card from someone. When the ID card was put on the scanner USA Today and others broadcast that name as the shooter, but quickly retracted it.

Agreed.

reddit says one shooter dead one lookout on the run

one of the scanners they were using is now on some sort of lockdown so info will be slow.

You know Tim is right. The psychopathy of spree shooters is that they tend to be loners. It is very rare for them to have partners. The same is true for work place shooters. If it is terrorism then that is of course often a group project. So it kind of depends on what we have here but lone shooters are more the norm.

Get right on that, where would they be without your wealth of information about bankers and wall street you posted in this thread.
Reddit going to try and ruin some others guy life like they did for the Sunil Tripathi?
That problem isn't Reddit specific. There is so much chaos and the media outlets (any of them) rush to be the first to report updates even if they are incorrect.

So sad. T&P to those involved.

A Russian official blasted “American exceptionalism” in a tweet Monday morning, saying the deadly shooting at Washington’s Navy Yard confirms the worst about the U.S.

“A new shootout at Navy headquarters in Washington — a lone gunman and 7 corpses. Nobody’s even surprised anymore,” tweeted Alexey Pushkov, a member of the Russian parliamentary foreign affairs committee.“A clear confirmation of American exceptionalism,” he added.

The comment — met with disgust on Twitter Monday, as the situation at Navy Yard continues to unfold — is a reference to the recent New York Times op-ed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Seems like it's quite the opposite and VERY specific to a select circumstance

Thought I was the only one :hifive:

I just heard that Aaron Hernandez is only a person of interest in this shooting right now. Not an actual suspect. Finally a win for him.

Some facts I now know about the Navy Yard shooting:

- The suspect is black.
- The suspect is white.
- There is one shooter.
- There are two shooters.
- There are three shooters.
- His name is Rollie Chance.
- His name is definitely NOT Rollie Chance.
- The Navy Yard shooting was part of a coordinated attack, including one at Bolling.
- There was no coordinated attack, no incident at Bolling.
- The suspect is dead.
- The suspect is at large.
- Two people are dead.
- Four people are dead.
- Six people are dead.
- Ten people are dead.
- The mainstream media, in the rush to be first reporting rumors and inaccuracies, has lost all credibility.

- If the suspects are not right-wing conservatives their underlying motives will be described as unknown or mysterious.

I think you should keep posting about this ad infinitum.

Yes that is their intention, feel free to not read the link I posted but instead make wild accusations.

Wait, I'm the one that makes wild accusations and not Reddit? Uh, okay.

Speaking of wild accusations everyone's favorite "false flag" ####### Alex Jones is at it already. This whole thing is about discrediting him so no need to worry. Could one of these shooters make Alex's day and martyr him already? G. Gordon Liddy was right sometimes a guy just needs killin'.

Civilian Navy employee, according to CBS
Damn. I was there a month ago on business (beautiful facility, BTW). Not an easy place to get into, particularly with a weapon. That place is locked down pretty well.

Gonna have to make some calls to make sure the folks I know are ok. Man, this sucks.

Oh, #### him. Here it is one lone gunman every once in a while. There it is handled by the KGB.
