Addai (1 Viewer)

The guy is the running back for a very high powered offense. He's averaging about 100 yards per game and you can get him cheaper than he's worth right now because owners are panicking this is suddenly going to turn into a rbbc or worse, he's going to lose goal line carries.

It was his first game back after an injury. Keith got most of his carries after the game was well decided and averaged less than 4 ypc vs. Addai's 5+. Right now you can get him for lower than his actual value is worth. In the playoffs, he plays the Ravens, Raiders and Texans. Bad, great and good matchups. Trade accordingly.

pretty sure you can't get him "low"..
I know of a few owners that aren't selling him for Thomas Jones, but they'd be willing to part ways with him for what would be good value. I still believe he'll be a top 5 rb. Some owners are selling him for top 10 prices. It's nothing drastic but it's a nice little pickup.

i was thinking of offering steven jackson for him, but i doubt the owner buys it
Now would be the time if he was ever going to go for it. Sell rbbc. Sell the fact Addai has never carried a full load. Sell the Rams finally getting somewhat healthy. Just don't overdo the sales job, else he'll wonder why you're giving up your superstar. Addai>>>>>>>>>>SJaxHeck, sweeten the pot if he balks.

The one to buy is Keith, it maynot be full RBBC, but it sure looks like Keith will get the goal line love, and from watching Keith run it in last night he looks like a perfect goal line back. I can see when the Colts are ahead by 14 in the 4th quarter Keith getting the carries, why not keep Addai fresh for the NFL playoffs. Keith looks like the Next Sammy Morris buy him now and you be rewarded.

Please explain. Is it because Addia pulled himself in one series last night and Keith punched it in? I'm sure no one here is stupid enough to base everything on 1 drive. Has Addia been pulled at the goal line by anyone besides himself? Any other reason? Keith's running style? He vast CFL experience? Please share.TIA

Jackson is twice the running back that Addai is. If you are stating that Addai is better because of the offense he plays for, then fine I agree. But addai cannot touch Sjax in terms of talent. Sjax and rams will be back next year, so if this is dynasty, then I would be very careful about trading him away for addai. I guy who has taken himself out of the game more times this year than almost every back in the league.

Obviously it's his tremendous 3.8 YPC compared to Addai's 4.9 last night  Addai isn't going to be worked hard as long as the Colts are winning. This coming week, Addai will see about 40-50% of the work, but then the next week against NE, I doubt Keith sees 10% of the work.

X not a true statement.

if by garbage time you mean Keith playing the entire 3rd series of the game and scoring in the first quarter when the game was 0-0 then yeah keith got most of his carries in garbage time

Unless the Addai owner is out of it... I don't see how you can buy him unless your offering LT2...

I bet if I even package Reggie Bush in a deal; the Addai owner wouldn't bite.

Coach Tony Dungy said Tuesday that the Colts "are developing more and more confidence" in Kenton Keith and "want to get him in there."Keith and Joseph Addai split carries Monday night and it sounds like the Colts plan to continue that going forward. "Joseph missing the week before may have had a little something to do with it but more and more I think having those guys go and keeping those guys fresh is going to be good for our running game," Dungy said. The news is bad for Addai, but makes Keith a potential RB3/Flex option.

I disagree, Bob..Addai is not a buy-low candidate, he's a preseason top 5 RB, you can't have a buy low scenario on a guy who was grabbed within first 5 picks of a fantasy draft..I don't think there is any need for panic by Addai owners, he'll be just fine. The only thing I'd be worried about, is the December swoon that the Colts seem to go thru every year..you know, the time of the year when Dungy rests all of his star players because they've clinched their playoff spot so early..they will have sewn up the #1 or #2 seed in the AFC ,in due time. The way that conference is going, the resting of players is a foregone conclusion. They're going to clinch awfully early this season.I'd be more apt to trade away Joe Addai, just for that reason, than I am to trade him because of fears of a RBBC.

Generally speaking, talent is vastly overrated. Addai and SJax both have loads of talent. Addai is in a fantastic situation. Not many rb's in a better position than him.

Again, it depends on the owner in your league but why can't he be had right now? LJ was a top five rb in the preseason...as of a month ago you could have had him at a much lower cost than what he's going for right now. Players do not maintain the same value throughout the entire season. I still believe Addai will be a top 5 rb by the end of the season-but right now, due to the rbbc fears, his value is a tad lower.I simply don't believe it will be a rbbc-if you think it will be, don't go buy him. If you think Kenton is nothing more than a backup then play on the fears of Addai losing carries and go whisk him away.

I'm pretty sure coaches never say things that don't come true.

In my dynasty league this week I traded:

Clinton Portis

Ladell Betts

Michael Bennett

1st round pick (likely end of the round)

for

Joseph Addai

Kenton Keith

This is in my main dynasty league where the guys are very sharp. I think the owner was scared of the RBBC so if you want him now may the time to get him..

No doubt he is a great but low..but no one is selling low!

In a keeper league,he's not going cheap. The Addai owner in my league will only deal him for Peterson and I'm sure that's not happening anytime soon.

From ESPN

News: Addai admitted that a sore shoulder injured against Denver on Sept. 30 was still bothering him last week, causing him to take himself frequently out of the game. "It's a long season and you want to be smart. I get that from the older guys: be smart about what you're doing," he told the Indianapolis Star.

==============================

This is what many of us noticed.

I think the 50-50 split was more due to Addai taking himself out. I think a normal split will be closer to 65-35 I think for these two players with Addai getting the 65%.

I think a lot of Addai fans were saying this is why they were splitting, good to see Addai admitting that's why he didn't carry the ball every play.

I have both Addai and KeithI'm hoping that they do sit Addai for a few games in the end of the season to make Keith that much more potent in several games.... I am just hoping one of the two gets at least 80% in each game- or at least the majority of the gamesthe problem that worries me is Dungy's comments and the fact that it makes good real world sense to use keith since addai will be the proven go to guy for the colts post season run to try and repeat this year

This should help explain why Keith is the buy low guy:News: The Indianapolis Star reports that Colts coach Tony Dungy said he expects to continue using Joseph Addai and Kenton Keith in a rotation at running back for the rest of the season. "Kenton's played well and we want to get him in there," Dungy said. "I think we're developing more and more confidence in him. Joseph, missing the week before (with a chest injury), may have had a little something to do with it, but more and more I think having those guys go and keeping those guys fresh is going to be good for our running game." Analysis: Bad news for Addai owners, great news for Keith owners and mixed news for those that own Addai and Keith. Addai should still start and be good for around 15-to-20 touches per game, while Keith will settle around 10-to-15 reps. Addai is still the better guy in Indy for now, but Keith will have a shot at emerging as a low-end No. 3 Fantasy RB, especially in games were Indy is expected to be up big in the second half as he'll be in there to keep Addai fresh. Addai remains a No. 1 option at Carolina, and Keith could see extended playing time against the hapless Panthers, so think of him as a No. 3.

So are you expecting KEith to be more valuable to a fantasy team than Addai?
