adding IDP to an existing league (1 Viewer)

I think my league my have finally turned the corner and joined the rest of the world with IDP. My question is what kind of lineup do you include with IDP, how many roster spots etc.

Also since our league is a dynasty/contract league, I need a way to create a value for defensive players. As it sits, to determine a players salary you take the number of TD's score and multiply it by $100,000. So a player scoring 10 TD's would have a salary of $1,000,000. My question is what and how do I form that to a defensive player?

:pickle: Another league comes over to real fake football. ;) There are some good threads in the FAQ pinned above the Forum that are worth reading. I put a long reply into this thread last May.

There's no standard IDP league. You'll need to decide "how IDP" you want to go. Hard core IDP leagues use 8-11 starters and a scoring system that puts more than a sprinkling of IDPs in the top 100. Others use 3-5 starters and minimal IDP scoring. You'll need to decide if you want a big play heavy scoring system or tackle heavy system or somewhere in between. The post above has some ideas on exactly what to consider.

Once you decide that, you may have a better idea of how to value IDPs. It's going to be difficult to find as easy of a stat-contract translation as you have for the IDP side, however. You'll have to decide whether to tier tackles, sacks, coverage plays or some combination of the above. More likely, the best way to do it will be to tie the contracts to the year end rankings in some fashion.

Happy to try to answer more specific questions as you think of them.
