Adrian Peterson: MRI on ankle Monday (1 Viewer)

man oh man, i have to decide between ADP and Gerhart by kickoff TONIGHT!
Join a new league or get this changed. YWIA.
:goodposting: Who has leagues like this anymore?
we do. i don't agree with it, but the majority of the other owners don't mind it so i'm stuck.either way, with BUF giving up 167 yards/gm to opposing RBs, and with the knowledge we have now, would you start ADP or Gerhart?
With this being the case, what are the chances that Minn goes up big and than sits AP to rest his ankle and put Gerhart in the rest of the day? Would this be a spot to start both?

From FBG:

"Continuing previous reports, Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson (ankle) plans to participate in practice Friday, Dec. 3, after not taking part in practice the past two days, reports The Associated Press. Peterson said the pain has left his sprained right ankle, and the flexibility is starting to return to where it needs to be. 'It's feeling good,' Peterson said. Peterson noted he will definitely be on the field during Week 13 provided his body is healthy enough to play."

Buffalo has been blown out in two games this year -- week 2 vs. Green Bay (34-7), and week 4 vs. the Jets (38-14). You could argue that week 5 against Jacksonville was also not that close, as Buffalo scored a late TD to make it a 10-point loss. But since then, all four of their losses have been by 3 points, and they've won the other two. Minnesota hasn't exactly been lighting up the scoreboard this year, so I don't think there's much information to suggest that this game will be a blowout where you can count on the backup RB to get a ton of carries because the game is out of reach. If AP starts, chances are he'll play most of the game, unless he aggravates the injury. He may be spelled a little more than usual, but if he plays, I expect his role to be about the same as usual.

ADP practicing now
Yeah, he walked through the other day which means nothing. Is he a full participant, even though it's Friday and "full participation" basically means jogging around in gym clothes? Or is he still walking around? Plus, without a link it is very meaningless.

Harvin remains out

Vikings wide receiver Percy Harvin will miss a second consecutive day of practice because of continuing issues with migraine headaches. Harvin was limited on Wednesday and did not practice Thursday.

Harvin has missed significant practice time before because of migraines and returned to play so he certainly can't be ruled out for Sunday's game against Buffalo.

Meanwhile, running back Adrian Peterson appeared as if he would test his sprained ankle. However, media was only allowed to watch stretching and a brief portion of field-goal work so it's not clear how much Peterson actually will do. Defensive end Ray Edwards (sprained right ankle) also was on the field for stretching.

Sidney Rice (hip) also looked as if he would do some work after missing Thursday's practice.

Although things could change, it looked as if wide receiver Greg Lewis (concussion), cornerback Chris Cook (knees); and guard Steve Hutchinson (broken thumb) would sit out today.

So Roto is saying media people saw AP work out today, but the local beat writer is saying the media was only allowed to see the stretching, I guess maybe AP looked good stretching?

"Vikings coach Leslie Frazier announced Friday that Percy Harvin (questionable, migraine) and Adrian Peterson (questionable, ankle) will be game-time decisions in Week 13.

The bigger question mark is Harvin, who hardly took any practice reps this week, including none on Thursday or Friday. Frazier only said that Harvin "feels a little better," while confirming that Peterson "looked pretty good" in his return to Friday's session. Tom Pelissero of 1500 ESPN Twin Cities "didn't notice any limp" from Peterson after the workout. Dec. 3 - 2:06 pm et"

But was he hopping?????

Now the question for us new gerhart owners is, do we hold on to him this weekend or drop him now? I could really use the roster space for other potential finds but my gut tells me that adp is worse off then they are letting on. Not to mention the possibility of aggravation.

I would hold Gerhart until we see what AP does if you have enough good players to start for you this week. AP could re-injure his ankle, and you don't want someone else snatching up Gerhart right after you had him on your bench.

Great, now i am not sure whether to start ADP or Gerhart. My only other option is Blount and I don't like him this week.

Welcome to the party...i've got forte in my RB spot, and have to fill up the other spot with 1 of the following: Blount, Dixon, Gerhart, Hart or Jahvid Best. Not much to choose from and a 1st round bye is on the line for me!

Would it be crazy to start Peterson AND Gerhart?
I'm considering this, too.even if peterson doesn't reinjure the ankle, what are the chances of gerhart still getting something like 14/60/1 with a few catches thrown in?and if you lose peterson in the first series, you've still got gerhart.

I asked this question early on with no responses til now but I see this as a very interesting lineup choice for this weekend - especially in leagues where you have a Flex spotLikely your RB2 is better than small to medium doses of GerhartBut if you played Gerhart at Flex (or RB3 if that is your option) WITH Peterson you get whatever points both generate AND protect against Peterson playing the first possession (or even worse just first series) and then leaving the game and scoring very little for you. I think the play is even better in a PPR league as Gerhart can get some passes regardless of the number of carries.I am weighing this option - I have and would normally play a WR at that spot but the insurance may be the better option

Peterson's value is shot, regardless of whether he plays. This will be a full-blown RBBC from now until the end of the season. And, it isn't like he was setting the world on fire the last 4 weeks before the injury as the feature back anyway.

I don't see a lot of championship being won with ADP in the lineup. Take your shot with someone else.

Adrian Peterson was able to test his sprained right ankle during a portion of Friday's practice, and Vikings coach Leslie Frazier said "there's a probability" the star running back will be able to play Sunday.

Well that clears things up.

If anything ADP's value is as high as ever playing the worst running defense in the league. He went from early #5 ranking up to #2, and that's taking into consideration his questionable status. Unless there is a setback, I am starting with confidence.

Is this a desperate attempt to get your weekly match-up or playoff opponent who reads the forums to drop him from the starting lineup or team?

That can't be true. In related news, Vick is finsihed. Owners might as well drop him ASAP in an effort to save their season.

I'm honestly worried here. I don't like the way this is being handled. This is too sketchy for my liking. If Peterson is done it will certainly be a big blow to my 11-1 team. At this point I am praying that he can play by week 15.
Yup and you'll get bounced in the first round! :grad: Oh and keep us updated on your team if you can we are all awaiting your title run.ADP hopped off, not limped, hopped...big indication of the seriousness, hes done for at least a couple weeks. IMHO
ADP galloped, not hopped, galloped for that 3rd TD.

Nothing's been decided yet folks. That was the Bills.i still see Toby getting a lot of carries down the stretch here. 16-12 today. Make sure you check back in here after you win the championship with ADP.

I did win my WCOFF league championship today with ADP...and I probably wasn't the only one.

Yes, it was the Bills and Minn pulled Peterson early in the 3rd quarter when the game was a blowout. Heck, even their 3rd string rb got 10 carries!I agree, Peterson owners are going to see a bit more touches by Gerhardt then we would like coming down the stretch, but it is not going to be a committee. No way, no how. Peterson is just, by far, the better back and brings excitement to a team that desperately needs it right now.

How did i get owned?By looking at an injury and assumed he was hurt worse? WOW, I WAS OWNED! LoL, at no point did i say ADP is not good. And fact when you cant put pressure on it, that means it hurts, walking on it and not utting pressure on it is a big indication. But i forget even middle schoolers are allowed access to this site, so I understand some of the posts.

You better get going, you have a lot of crow to eat.
Lets keep it simple....how many runnig backs can play on a sprained ankle, when most people can barely walk.Just cuz a player is talented, does not me he is immortal. It says everywhere he is expected to play, but no where does it give a legit health update, or true MRI results. If it was just a sprain it would of been the first thing they wanted to get out, not wait 2 days....and remember u need the ankle to accelerate, cut, and block. It says Bienemy is Confident, is Bienemy a doctor? Means nothing, especially from him, if anything the way they are acting and things they are sayin, lets me know it dont look good for ADP.And as a ADP owner, i hope Toby plays.
