Tom Powers: Vikings should trade Adrian Peterson (1 Viewer)

I think we cast our own feelings upon Barry and now ADP and very often they are too classy to offer their own.

They should have traded the Stanford boy and that'll be seen as a mistake next year IMO.

If this shows anything it's that their personnel folks need to be re-evaluated and possibly replaced

I don't believe he has any trade value now or in the past.

Well in the past he sure did. I mean he was a darling of college football but I can agree with that shine wearing off at some point though.

I was thoroughly impressed with him in college and have held onto that possibly too long. Still, I'll be grabbing him in every dynasty league as the season closes and expect this pans out for me in FF next year.

Don't the Skins have an extra QB?...
Yeah so do the Vikings. Has there ever been a QB more over-rated than Kirk Cousins?
Im not so sure the Vikings need a QB tbh I believe some of the problem is play-calling. Personally I believe AP is @ two yrs past max trade value, But I would think a team that loves to run the ball may have interest. Wash may not have much to offer in trade. The Def appears to lack similar to the Vikings. I also cant see any upside to help the OLine. IF the Vikings were to trade, what would you hope to acquire? From who (aside from draft picks)

imo Most teams appear to require some pass-catching, which limits the options.

It depends on the team and their style.

A team like Pittsburgh, I don't think their fans blink about giving up their entire draft for him(or whatever the Herschel amount is) at all.

It would be such a waste to continue on a team like this, but he won't come cheap...I think teams view rb as a commodity. If the line is blocking well an average rb can be serviceable.

I believe you called me dumb for liking the Browns' trade.

Now, you're really going to think I'm an idiot.

The answer to this is, of course MIN should trade AP if they could get nice value. By decent value, I mean a 1st and a 2nd. If I was a secure GM, I'd just take a 1st. Trading a 28 YO RB for a 1st is the right move, but you have to able to withstand the backlash from short-sighted fans.

Correct, It'll probably take them a year or 2 for MIN to compete again, by then AP might be winding down? Makes sense, he's nowhere near his 2k pace this year...And they might be able to get some young talent in return. Its easy to play it safe, but when you are as low as the Vikes now with a shaky defense and offense, its going to take awhile. At least in KC Reid knew he had a solid defense, MIN D is old...

I just feel sorry for AP. He is going to have a career like Barry Sanders. I think it make sense for the Vikes to trade him right now and start working on rebuilding.

If Minn likes Cousins then Cousins + Morris is about right. WAS may need to dump some salary (not sure how the NFL handles in-season trades in terms of the cap- they could throw in Meriweather)

I'm about as big a AD fan outside Minnesota as there is, but Washington would be foolish to give Morris and Cousins. Let alone throw in a good DB.

Mike and Mike, with Chris Carter were talking about AD today. Dallas makes sense on some level and Jerry would do it, but do they really want a reverse Hershel trade?

Not that it would happen, but Peterson in Dallas with Romo, Dez, Witten and Austin/TWilliams to open up the running lanes and he would be disgusting. You double team Dez and you can never have more than 7 in the box. 8 in the box and Romo has a wide open guy all day long.

But Chris Carter also said that deal would be impossible becasue of the Cowboys Salary Cap situation this year and long term.

Maybe they can give someone a pick to take Austin and his contract?

Yes, pretty much all rookies.

Cousins would be a good snag for a lot of teams. I would like my Browns to get him. For a 1st?? I think it would be a good move, but I cant see his trade value being that high
Redskins need to stop playing him if they want to preserve his trade value. :-)
