Vikings WR2 not currently on roster? (1 Viewer)

Questions I’m asking are, how likely do we think this might happen?

And if it does happen, who it might be?

I’ve always thought Adam Thielen looked good in purple …

I think unlikely unless there is a notable camp cut. If the Vikings are seriously looking for a vet WR to step in, I think the call goes to the NY Jets about Lazard or Reynolds. I know the Jets depth isn't great, but Fields isn't going to get the most out of those guys.

Amari Cooper is still sitting at home.

They have already implied it in an article about Carolina’s receiving corps (no cite and they didn’t cite, which sort of has begun to make me unhappy because I don’t know if the writer is hearing things or speculating). Said something about a reunion. I didn’t totally buy it, but it sounded like just a whiff of smoke from a distant fire.

I would have said low but then I looked across the Vikings depth chart and I can see why they are concerned. Lucky Jackson? Silas Bolden? Myles Price? Yikes. Nailor being week to week with the hand injury is actually very significant for them. Amari Cooper is still unsigned, I wonder why? I assume Gabe Davis isn't physically able to play and thus why he remains unsigned. Kendrick Bourne is a decent player and might be on the bubble with all the changes New England has made to their WRs. I was going to say the Texans had some depth they could get rid of but they just traded Metchie yesterday to the Eagles.

Nailor has been very solid when called upon to step in. He’s a credible WR2 IMO while the suspension runs.

The depth chart after him? Good grief, it looks like the cast of a Hallmark movie more than a NFL WR room. I’d imagine MIN will be watching cuts very closely in the next couple of weeks.

Not a great sign if they can't weather the storm of 3 games without Addison.

Can't be good for JJ's FF potential at the beginning of the season.

Also Jetta gonna have 52 catches thru 3 games.

I think Nailor suffered a hand injury last week. Lucky Jackson has been running with the 1's.

Multiple injuries?

Yesterday's update on Addison: WR Jordan Addison is standing out in practices as WR1 in Jefferson's absence

What injuries? How bad?

If your the Vikings, you want to get out to the fastest start possible. Their schedule after their week 6 BYE is Philadelphia, @Chargers, @Lions, and Ravens. If you go into the BYE at 3-2 or 2-3 you could be looking at 3-6 or 2-7 real quick. It's not like their schedule eases after that, they still have to play Green Bay twice, Detroit again, Washington, @seattle and @dallas. Honestly, if the Vikings make the playoffs, Kevin O'Connell should be coach of the year.

BRUTAL SCHEDULE!
I think I might be dropping AJones, JMason & TJ Hock after week 5 to avoid that whole mess.

I thought Nailor was fine last year and could sub in for three games as the #2 but if his injury is bad enough to have him miss time then another body is definitely needed. I would love to see Thielen back with the Vikings. I think he would be a great.

It would be nice if Felton was up to the task but I am not sure if that is the case.

Or Hockenson gets off to a massive start.

Honestly it probably wouldn't be the worst idea to be base 2-TE with Hock and Oliver in general, but they don't have many other options at the moment.

Thielen would make sense, though I don't see why Carolina would give him up for anything less than a day 2 pick, and I can't the Vikings offering that. Thielen is very important to the development of Young, McMillan, and Legette. Other than Cooper, FA is pretty much non-existent, beyond subpackage types, like a Gabe Davis.

Nailor has a hand injury.
Im sure he could fill in nicely as he did last year, but hand injuries and WRs are pretty questionable.

I think there's a small list that know his offense and can come in and play pretty quickly.

Most wouldn't be up to speed when they're needed
