AFC East Favorite (1 Viewer)

I still think the Patriots have to be the favorites. Brady is a huge loss, but they are still better than the rest of the division.

If Cassel steps up then NE. If not then it's a 3 team race. No fish.

I'm not ready to rule out the Pats just yet. If anyone can get a team to overachieve, it's Belichick.

But the division just a lot more interesting, that's for sure. The Bills have the defense to compete and the Jets have the offense. Next week Pats-Jets game might tell us quite a bit.

I thought the Jets' trade for Favre was kind of pointless at the time, but this could obviously pay huge dividends for them now. The Bills looked really good today, and you'd think NE has enough overall talent not to sink to the basement, but this whole division is suddenly a lot more interesting.

Even though I think the Patriots are still the favorite to win their division, this sure opens up the AFC title run.

I think the Pats are 8-8 ,9-7 without him. If they steal a game they'll be 10-6 and I think that takes the divisionthe whole AFC could be wide open

I don't know. If you go down the list of each position, I don't think they're best in the division anywhere except DL. Maybe WR.

You sure are putting a lot of eggs in that Brady basket then. Is he the only reason they have been so good lately? If so, let's throw him in the HOF right now.

If I have to bet, I still say it's the Pats. But this season just got a lot more interesting.
I tend to agree, but if Brady is out fo the year, im not so sure. Either way, as a bills fan, today sure made it look alot closer than it was yesterday. Glad i took the Bills to win the AFC @ +4000, and took them over 8 games won.

Uhh, he's in the HOF if he retires tomorrow. Is that supposed to be sarcastic?

If he retired tomorrow, he would not be in the HOF right now. In the history of sports, only a handful have been considered so incredible that they were inducted immediately. Are you putting him in that league or are you being sarcastic?

I still think it is New England.

They won't be winning games 50-7 much, but they will rely on the running game more, and lean on their defense. Cassel will be an adequate starter who will get better with experience (including all of the practice reps with the 1st team). It doesn't hurt having Welker and Moss to throw to.

I can't tell if you're intentionally misinterperating me in a clever effort to backpedal, or if you're just bad at reading comprehension. Either way I don't see the point in continuing.

Neither. I was trying to coax out of you the answer to whether or not you think Brady is the sole reason for the Patriots' success. You were the one that got into a silly semantics game.

Brady will be in the Hall of Fame 5 years after he retires. First ballot whatever.Bills & Jets in that order, my picks for this division.

I think it's pretty much a toss-up at this point. I just don't have enough on Cassel to go on. If the defense can play like it did today, and Cassel can "manage" well, I think the Patriots could still be the favorite. Big "ifs" though, in my opinion.

I certainly don't feel like the Patriots are completely out of it though.
