After all the hoopla/hype (1 Viewer)

All the hype for one game, I know there is history at stake. With the Giants, possibly, sitting many players this game will not live up to all the efforts being put forth for this one game.

My point is with so many people involved in trying to get this game to the masses you would hope the game is worth it......I doubt it will be.

It wouldn't be worth it even if the Giants DID play their starters. They'd get blown out regardless.....

It will be a preseason game after the half. Brady will attempt to get the TD record for him and Moss in the first two drives. If he does and they go up something like 24-3, they will be running the clock out starting in the second half with heavy doses of Evans...

Saturday night game, national audience, at Giants stadium. I doubt the Giants will be going down without a fight in their house. Brady and Moss will get their two TD's each, but the Giants do want to win this game. They want to be the team remembered for breaking up the perfect season. This game will come down to the wire. Final two minutes of the game, Pats win on a late field goal and a game ending pick of Manning.

The Giants, if they're smart, should care less about winning this game and more about having the best and healthiest team possible to go to Tampa next week. And quite frankly so should the Patriots. Coughlin's been on the hot seat for so long he needs a playoff win to really recover and no one in Ny is going to care if they beat the Pats and lose next week, especially if a Giant gets hurt in a completely meaningless game (championship wise). So it might be a nice peg to hang your hat on that you beat the historic team, that doesn't get you closer to the true goal (the one the Pats are overlooking in their quest for glory) of winning the championship. I am in no way hoping for it, but I won't feel one shred of sorry if Brady, Moss or a lineman get hurt from chasing records instead of chasing the championship. Or a Giant if while trying to stop it. They and fans can toss out as much "focus" and "staying sharp" and "momentum" talk they want. If BB is as good a coach as he's supposed to be and runs his ship as tight as he's supposed to, then playing an extra quarter or two this weekend isn't going to be the difference in keeping the team ready to play after their bye. This game should be a bunch of second stringers, and either coach that risks their players for the glory of being (or stopping) the perfect team or setting records has lost sight of the goal and deserves a loss next week when it actually matters.

Gotta disagree on this. Who is going to remember if the giants go one or two deep in the playoffs in 5 years? Everyone will remember if they take out the greatest Team in History on last game of the season. Coughlin might be gone or stay but I dont think it rides on a playoff win from this year.

Who wants to bet Peyton Manning hasn't been coaching up little bro over the phone all week on how to pick apart that aged Pats* defense?

But the goal isn't to be remembered. The goal is to win the SB. I don't know if he gets fired for losing round 1. But I'm pretty sure he will if they lose because they got hurt the week before trying to "be remembered".

...but, they won't be if they lose this cakewalk.
