That sucked :(

Bases loaded.. 1 run

Next inning 2 runners in scoring position.. Nothing :(

Just couldn't get that "big hit" when it was needed. :pickle:

Here's hoping tonight they light it up!!!

I hope all of the people whining about how bad the weather would be in Minneapolis in October take note that thew weather in NYC has been appreciably worse both of these days

Cold, damp, drizzly, windy...hope the weather turns a bit before Saturday

Well that sucked in a good way I guess. Good to see the pen and the offense back up CC. Tex being hot and Arod not going 0-4 right off the bat have to be good signs.

All in all I can't really say I enjoyed the game at all because of the tension and the fact that the TBS announcing crew just might be the worst ever conceived in the history of baseball. I was actually sitting there thinking to myself, you know Joe Morgan wouldn't be so bad right now. Ugh. I can't listen to these guys anymore. I mean they treated Tex's homerun like it was a foulball and they were talking to mimes.

He hit it. A high shot. (it lands and about 5 seconds later) and oh its a homerun  Ssshhhhh fans. Don't want to wake the kids.

This is kind of a weird complaint for a Yankee fan who has to listen to John Sterling and Suzy Waldman all the time.

I love John. He's my guy. John and Michael Kay were a great team and took the torch well from Rizzuto. I know it's homerism but that's fine. Susyn Waldman - I hate that guy. With a passion. His radio death cannot come fast enough. I'd rather hear John talk to himself the entire game then deal with Waldman. And compared to the TBS crew, Waldman deserves an Emmy.

Rivera is as good as his job as anyone has ever been good at doing any job ever.

If that makes sense.

:lmao: Sterling is Classic Yankees.Last night was pathetic, boring and way over scripted, regurgitated ####.

Sterling is godawful

Doesn't give you the score, gives as little description as possible ("fouled off," not "lined foul down the left field line", etc), and routinely butchers and blows calls in an effort to shoehorn his tired shtick into the radiocast

I really think the guy is going blind

 His schtick is so annoying. Listen to a pro like Vin Scully, Ernie Harwell or Jack Buck do a game and then listen to Sterling. Its not about you (meaning Sterling) - its about the game.I couldn't find it because MLB sucks, but if you can find the video of Vin Scully addressing Ernie's death from earlier this year - it shows how great of an announcer he was. It was clearly an emotional moment, but he wouldn't let it interrupt the game. The game is the cheese - not Vin. Not Ernie. John Sterling is all about John Sterling.

I feel really good for Grandy, I really respect that he finally beat his stubborness and made the adjustments he needed and the fact he's having success is just gravy.

If him and Berkman can get going, well...

Yeah, pretty much done with MLB. Thanks Yankees, you've finally driven me away for good.

Great job by Andy, very impressed coming back out with a nice inning after the long top half of the inning. Anybody who was worried before better not be anymore.

Kerry Wood is nasty.

It would be nice to have capitalized on more of the runner on third/less than two out situations that presented themselves seemingly every inning. That might not hurt you now, or perhaps even in the next round should they advance, but eventually the situational baseball is going to bite you in the ### if you don't take advantage.

That said, if Granderson/Jeter/Berkman are going to hit like they're capable of instead of how they hit for most of the season, this is going to be an awfully tough team to beat in the LDS or LCS.

ETA: Awful call on the pitch to Berkman, the plate umpiring for this game was a joke on many levels -- that was just the most egregious one.

I can't imagine the tension and nerves for Yankee fans, hoping your team with a quarter billion dollar payroll can hang on to buy it's way to another title. I can't believe any of you have fingernails left. What grief!

Seriously if there was a way to strangle all of you Yankee fans right now by just pushing a button, I would push it.
Yeah.Because just look at all the pages of cocky, obnoxious Yankee fans in this thread just pouring it on.Honestly, If I were a Twins fan, the way the series has gone so far, I couldn't blame, Whine or Cry about anyone other than my own team right now, mostly the offense. Just not getting the hits. That could happen Vs anyone...It's not like the twins faced Halladay here - they had opportunities.

1. New York Yankees $201,449,289 $7,748,050

24. Minnesota Twins $65,299,267 $2,251,699

201 slightly > than 65.. Just saying.

Oh, it had othing to do with anything any fan actually did, basically just pure rage and jealousy spilling over. You have no idea the level of frustration after 10 straight playoff losses, especially when most of them winnable. I'm just so angry.

Last I checked minny was around 100 millon.

Which percentage wise dwarfs the royals and tribe so good luck with the al central title you bought

Oh Snogger.
I don't know, I think he makes a valid point. Think about the guys who played the biggest roles last night -- Granderson, Pettitte, Berkman, Wood, Mo.I mean, those guys were all BIG-TIME free agents when the Yankees went out and bought all of them up for top dollar. They were in high demand, but in the end Yankee money won out and lured them to the Bronx. No wait...

Frosty --- big fan :P

Series has been played tighter than the 2-0 mark would indicate. I like the Yanks to close it out on Saturday though.

I get it...

I'm a Knicks, Jets and Islanders fan :scared:

Based on that, I NEVER count anything over.. I never counted the Sox out down 0-3... It's one game at a time one pitch at a time.

And yeah, I was biting my nails in the 9th last night... Mariano working on his 2nd straight day, with a pitch count that was higher than it needed to be the night before, If the Twins don't ground into that DP and they get a ralley going you're this close to Taxing Mariano quickly for the night and for the series and everything changes.

Sorry.. My response came off as an excuse for their losing these two games and that wasn't what I was trying to convey.

They lost these games due to the inability to get the "big hit" when needed. This didn't have anything to do with Money, but everything to do with their inability to not :choke:

What I was trying to convey was based off the "bitterness" response.

Until MLB does something about the difference between the haves and have not's, the Yankees will continually be in the running for championships year in and year out.

For NY fans that is great. but for the rest of us the frustration is maddening.. :coffee:

Teams like the Twins, KC and others can only hope to put together a couple good years here and there and then rebuild again as they can't buy the talent needed to compete against the big  teams.

MLB will never go to a system like the NFL because it can't. If the Vikings and Chiefs got to a Super Bowl everyone would still watch. Where as the Twins and Royals got to a World Series (i know that can't happen) no one would watch. What is there incentive for allowing the Royals and Pirates to be competitive? Baseball isn't the popular sport like it used to be 70 years ago.Heck, I bet they are sweating a Tampa Cincy WS right now...

Wow. Twins really cant get over this psychological hump. Dont know if they can come back from 4-0 lead although Ive seen crazier things.
