Twins have to win Game 1 to have a shot in my opinion, for multiple reasons.

If the Yanks take HFA right away and win with our one "sure thing", it deflates the Twinkies right away. However, if the Twins beat CC and go up 1-0, the Yanks are now deflated and the Twins could very well sweep. None of our other SP have been any good lately.

It's a better matchup than people realize, but I'm expecting the Yanks take Game 1, Twins even it up in 2, Yanks win the next two to advance.

Voted for Yankees in 4, also voted for them to win thw WS at +295 even though I bet on the Rays to win the al pennant and Phillies(+550) to win the NL back in July.

Yankees in 5. I was rooting for the Twins to get lined up with us but frankly didn't like the way it happened in the end and the Yanks look lost right now. The Yankees always have this teams' number and that should hold this year, but it might not. I agree with the poster that said Game 1 will be the most important. If the Yankees lose Game 1 I don't know if they can win the series. But I expect them to win Game 1 and then lose two more because of back end staff issues, only to close it out in a full 5.

Which will seriously alter the ALCS rotation although possibly for the better.

The thing about the end of the season that I hope was "because of that and not they are losing their touch" is..Short of home field throughout the Twins had nothing to play for and decided to get healthy.. Whereas the Yankees were at least still playing for the Division.

One can hope.. :goodposting:

Glad this thing doesn't get started in this crappy NY weather...

nothing like a Cold rainy playoff game.

Yankees were toeing the line for the last month between caring about the division and trying to get healthy....

Frankly, I don't think it matters one bit...

Good luck Snogger - I finally broke out my Jets BBQ set, I almost forgot I had that :pickle: (Secret Santa)

I can't see them being CC twice, but I could definately see them winning game 1, for no other reason than a funny feeling, partially motivated by Liriano.

I think it'll take a Fuentes meltdown in one game. I haven't seen definitively if its Pettite Game 2, I kind of wish you had Hughes going on the road twice, him vs. Mauer and Thome in Game 3 could be dicey.

I'm going Yanks in 4.

Yanks in 4 IMO. Twins dont have the pitchers to shut down the lineup and dont have the horses to abuse Posada on the basepaths. Twins dont match up well with the Yanks at all.

Sabathia gets the corner (and off the corner sometimes) Lirano not so much...

God, Liriano is into that mode where he's afraid to throw a strike. That's the second batter of the game he's gotten to 0-2 and then ended up letting get on base. Just throw it Franky, they can't hit it. Stop getting cute.

Everytime I watch him pitch, and it's been plenty, I just can't believe how fat Sabathia is. That gut is unbelievable.

Please keep Kerry Wood away from Mirrors and avoid all reference to the fact that he is, in fact, Kerry Wood. One more out stranger.

That game was there for the Twins taking, and they blew it. Had they beaten Sabathia and with all the NYY rotation issues, I think they had a real chance. Tough loss there.

That was a nerve wracking game

CC didn't have his top stuff, but the pen was real solid

This Twins team is tough, they never quit

Never feel comfortable in a game with them

Glad to get that one out of the way
