I picked up Alex Green as a late flyer in a dynasty league. I was originally hoping that he could steal a few carries from Starks, but then when the news was leaking that Starks had looked terrible in practice and Green was lighting it up I began to get really excited. Now that they have signed Benson to be there bell-cow (I assume), what can I expect from Green? What makes me most frustrated is that Benson is a similar back to him and Starks will probably be used on third downs.

IMO Benson won't have much if any impact on Green in dynasty. If Green can play he'll eventually win the job.

Came in to post this. If Green is really a player worth rostering in fantasy he should easily beat out Benson when healthy.

GB may be worried about the injury to Starks. So Benson may not have been signed to be the bell-cow, but to add depth to a RB stable that has some injury concerns. Remember that Green himself is recovering from an ACL.

In dynasty, I wouldn't worry about Benson that much. He's been waiting around for a job for a while now and has had no takers till GB. Cincy went out and signed BGE rather than re-sign him. I'm not seeing him as a multi-year answer even if he wins the starting gig in camp.

As for roles, Green is a good receiver. I'm not so sure that Starks is going to be the 3rd down back when healthy.

I won't say that I think Green is a great RB or does anything in paticular that the Packers will drool over but as an owner who has, over the years, had A LOT of RBs with turf toe, I'm here to say it's no joke and as a result of that, I could kind of see Green and Benson being the only relevant RBs this year for them. It could easily be a lost season for Starks in GB.

It's a very deep league with 16 teams and I have AP, Doug Martin, David Wilson, and Alex Green. I can only keep two at the end of the year so I'm hoping to keep AP and Martin and trade the others for draft picks or to package some together to get a big back. Either way I was just hoping that Alex Green could provide me with something this year
