All-Same-Bye-Week Teams (1 Viewer)

Footballguy
I remember seeing some posts like this in a thread last year and, since I've been running a few mocks over at FFC, I thought I'd see if I could put together an All Same Bye Week team just for laughs.

The theory is that if your team just bombs during a single week with most of your starters on a bye at the same time, you'll be a much stronger team for the remaining weeks of the year.

(all 12 team, non-ppr, no TE-required mocks in my case, fwiw)

From the 8th slot, for example, I could very reasonably draft an All Week-8-Bye Team:

1st Turner RB

2nd White WR or DeShaun Jackson WR

3rd McCoy RB

4th S Smith WR (NYG) or Boldin WR

5th ???

6th Culter QB or Kolb QB

Or, from the 6th thru 8th slot, you could start to draft an All Week-7-Bye Team like this:

1st A Johnson WR

2nd S Greene RB

3rd M Schaub QB

4th Addai RB

then it gets sketchy

Finally, in one of the top slots, if you get Ray Rice RB, you could start an All Week-8-Bye as well:

1st R Rice RB

2nd White WR or DeShaun Jackson WR

3rd McCoy RB

4th S Smith WR (NYG) or Nicks WR

...

ok. I ran out of steam there  but I'm seeing reasonable options for Week 4 Team (starting with A Peterson, S Rice WR, J Charles near the top of the draft),

or a Week 6 Team (Fitz, DeAngelo, S Smith CAR, Wells/Stewart...) as well.

Just thought I'd throw it out there for fun...

It is not a reasonable strategy in draft leagues - too many spots where you would be reaching or be crushed when your one target went in fronot of you.

Very viable though in auction leagues where a much better team could be put together without overspending for most players.
