Alternatives to Jack Johnson & Donovan Frankenreiter (1 Viewer)

Tyrone Wells

Hold On is his best album The new one Remain is OK but to me not as good as Hold On

Seen him at Maxwell's in Hoboken and he was outstanding. He is playing a dinner show there again Feb 28th

Chris isaaks baja sessions
I hate every other thing Chris Isaaks has ever done, but somehow I absolutely love this album. Brings me back to Mexico every time i hear it.
Downloading now....Just got Jack Johnson's new release, To The Sea (due out June 1st)...Im 4 tracks in, and so far Im really liking it...most of his CDs have a few songs I like and the rest is "meh" filler...not so with this one...yet...

Excellent list. I lost track of Matt pond pa after the first few albums. I'll have to look for emblems.

Anyone like Keaton Simons?

I've never heard of the guy, but came across his name while listening to Jay Mohr's podcast with Eric Roberts (Roberts is Keaton's step-dad). They were saying he is a stratosphere above John Mayer. I've listened to a couple of songs on youtube, and they were all right, nothing spectacular. If you're a Keaton fan, what are some songs to make me a fan?

Josh Ritter
:lmao: Josh Ritter is awesome.
:hophead: Friggin' LOVE that guy.

The live version of "Snow is Gone" from Hello Starling is one of my favorite songs of all time.
My brother-in-law to be is a good friend of Ritter's. He's also a musician and they're in the same scene. My BIL -- and by the way, his music could fit into this thread genre as well -- awesome musician, lots of good stuff here:

Dr. Dog

M. Ward

Blind Pilot

I dont think John Butler Trio really is similar to JJ, but they were great until their last album
