Always know your league rules (1 Viewer)

As a commish myself, I don't think that it's my job to devise a scoring system so cryptic and complicated that it takes a NASA computer or in this case Draft Dominator to draft a competitive team. Is it the goal of the commish to trick it up in order to give the commish an advantage? Uncle Bill may know a lot about football but he needs to learn a few things about good sportsmanship. Maybe somebody should tell Uncle Bill that there are plenty of decaffinated brands on the market today and plenty of better leagues that you guys can get into.

Well, his ultimate goal was to even out the scoring between everyone and not make the RB the focus of the league. I understand that, but he won't accomplish it by making a scoring system like this. He will accomplish it by what the starting rosters consist of. That's what he doesn't seem to get.

One of my leagues equalizes offensive positions by giving WR's 1 PPR, TE's 2 PPR, and allowing us to use different formations. This league uses IDP's and the same goes for defense, with tackles being different values depending on the position. I personally don't like leagues with too many scoring categories.

Pretty simple scoring + formations = :thumbup:

Yep, Wilkins got 70. Josh Brown got me 40.

BTW, Some of the recent posts in this thread were the kind of discussion I was expecting the first time around. And I'm totally on board. This is the WRONG way to de-emphasize the importance of RB... which I think Bill must have known, since he drafted like 8 RBs, 0 kickers, and 0 defenses.

I love this league!

Haven't goggled that hard in a long time. Awesomeness.

An experiment hasn't gone this horribly awry since the Hulk met Frankenstein.

I don't know what to do with this. Seriously.
using Draft Dominator down?
No. I can calculate value, etc. So y'all are saying this scoring system doesn't strike you as really odd? Fine, my bad.
I think this scoring system is about as far from the real game as possible and I would never play in a league like this. As it is almost every fantasy league is too heavily geared towards TD's. I am OK to do that in my league because I like the Pure part of FG's being worth 3 points and all TD's being worth 6 points, but we give .1 for every yard for everyone but QB's who get .05 for every yard thrown.Making kickers worth more when their production is somewhat random anyway is illogical to me.

Turns out that the scoring was only the tip of the iceberg.Between the "keeper" rules (6, 7, or 8 players? not specified. Players lose a draft pick per keeper or no? don't get me started...), the IR fiasco where some teams have two extra roster spots, the 11th hour "super secret add drop", the entirely lopsided and insulting trade offers from the commish for my top draft picks... well, let's just say I'm treating this more like a sitcom. I had Steve Smith with a big gooseegg staring me in the face. I was forced to drop a defense (Chargers as it turned out :angry: ) to make room for Drew Carter as a (possibly season-long) replacement. Meanwhile, other teams had healthy guys on "IR" and the commish (who did not draft a defense) scooped up the Chargers using some secret back door process to make his roster legal before gametime. If I'd had any idea that you could store healthy players on IR, I never in a million years would have dropped SD. Anyway, I know this isn't really on topic, but you bemused followers of this league might get a further kick out of these developments. My plan is to play as fair as possible, keep my FF karma intact, and treat this as a slowly unfolding train wreck.

This sounds like a league worth losing interest in after the draft. I know it's family, so you may feel obligated, but it just doesn't seem worth it.

Don't sign up for it next year. Keeper league when a commish cheats, AND an insane scoring system? Fun.
