Very interesting reading
So I'm sitting at home watching the Phillies destroy the Astros and J.R. Towles comes to the plate. Kalas and Co. mention his four HRs and how the Astros have never had a hitter hit for power - Mitch Meluskey hit 14 HRs in 2000, the team record for HRs by a catcher. Interesting.
Harry says, 'Whatever happened to Mitch Meluskey?' So I google his name and come across some interesting stuff, including the link above.
I owned Meluskey in an NL-only league, so I remember him well. Of course, we don't care about defense, but apparently neither did Mitch.
Makes me curious about Mike Piazza's CERA since he gets called a bad defensive catcher a lot.
Happy reading.
